Arrival Story:
I was living in an apartment complex and one hot July day I got out of my car and the cutest dog greeted me in the parking lot. He had no collar so I took him in for some water and called around to local shelters but no one had reported him missing. After about a week of searching for his owners and posting signs around the neighborhood my only choices left were to take him to the pound, which I couldn't bear, or find him a good home. He's been my best buddy ever since.
Bio:
Buster was about a year or 2 old when I found him. He's never been a dog's dog, much preferring people over other canines. People would meet him once and fall in love with him. He's the kind of dog that even "non-dog" people just take to immediately, likely because he acted less like a dog than any I'd ever met. He never barked, slobbered, whined, scratched, smelled bad, sniffed butts or licked anyone. If you threw him a ball he'd duck out of the way, he would go to the dog park and sit next to me on the bench. He loves his bed and will spend inordinate amounts of time ensuring he gets those covers just right before he settles down. He hates the water, unless it's a bath. He loves to lie in your arms like a baby and be swaddled in a blanket. His biggest joy in life is a comfy spot in your lap and a good ear rub, which due to his velvety ears he gets lots of. He's never chased cats and usually winds up curled up with one nearby. His best friend is Louie, who joined our family in 2001 and has soft fluffy fur that Buster loves to nestle himself in. He's gotten old these past couple of years, his pretty orange coat has turned white andhis eyes are droopy and don't see so well anymore. He's deaf as a post and startles easily, but luckily isn't terrified by thunderstorms anymore. His teeth are falling out and his legs are a bit shakey and he often forgets where he is and what he was just doing. But he's still everybody's favorite beagle :)
