Charley likes his dog food, frosty paws, peanut butter, some fruits and vegetables.

Arrival Story:
I decided I wanted a dog and kept seeing a link to the Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas (www.ddrtx.org). I started looking at all the dogs, when I saw a picture of Charley. I knew then he was my dog. And as soon as he was in my home, I think we both knew we were meant for each other. He's just the best. And everyone who's met him says so.

Bio:
I don't know much about Charley's background. But I know he's happy and I'm lucky to have him!

Forums Motto:
Any lap will do for a nap!

Birthday Boy!

May 18th 2008 9:19 am   [link to this entry]

Today is Charley's birthday. He started the day with some scrambled eggs, then got a new squeak toy - which he has not yet torn apart! He'll get a walk in the p.m., then will be treated to some grilled chicken for dinner.

He's one spoiled boy, but he's a good one.

Being a brat

March 18th 2006 6:59 pm   [link to this entry]

Sometimes, Charley is just spoiled. OK, a LOT of the time, Charley is spoiled. But he's not always a brat.

However, I've left him quite a bit lately, and he's been a big ol' brat. Pouting when I leave. Refusing to let me out of his sight when I'm home. I can't help the travel (someone's gotta work to keep the little guy's toys and treats coming in).

We're open to any ideas to keep sweet Charley from becoming a pill. He's still a kid, so I understand that. But anything to curb his anxiety would be a HUGE help!

Barkin' in 2006

January 9th 2006 2:32 pm   [link to this entry]

Charley had a GREAT Christmas. Got TONS of toys and treats - a little overwhelming I think. As far as I know, it was his first official Christmas. He hasn't learned to open his own gifts yet, but he's got 11 months to figure it out!

Charley and I celebrate our first year together next month. He's just the best and I'm truly blessed to have Charley. I hope he feels the same! He's a great little guy and I don't know why no one wanted him. I guess he and I were meant to be family. And for that I'm truly greatful!

I hope 2006 means bigger and better things for Charley. He's sure to get more great toys (he is a spoiled dog - I admit it). And I'm still working to get him to be a little more outgoing. He's still shy, but I think he's getting better about meeting new people.

We're going to take a nap (one of Charley's favorite things to do). Hope you have a great 2006!
