Arrival Story:
Classic puppy in the window deal. I was looking at pups to learn about a few breeds that I was interested in. Dachshunds were third on my list. There Max was, trying to sleep in a playpen while all the other pups were trampling over him. I picked him up and he instantly gave me a "your my hero" look and fell asleep. I instantly fell in love with that little long puppy. Little did I know that when I took him home, I didn't own a dog, he owned me and my heart.
Bio:
When Max was a puppy he was also raised by his "Aunt" Ren, and he just wants to tell her thanks for all the fun times and that he misses all the yummies she gave him.
Max has a kitty friend, his brother Oliver whom he loves to snuggle wtih on the couch or on the bed.
His favorite game is "Go find Mommy". At night with all the lights off, he patiently waits in one room while I hide in another. Once I say the magic words "go find mommy" he is off searching. He knows most of my hiding places already so I have to be creative.
Dec. 2003 he had an injury to his back, surgury fusing the two shattered discs fixed him up and is now fully recovered.
***Just a note of caution for Dachshund owners...keep the weight off and most importantly keep them from jumping and using stairs it will help prevent such medical problems that Max went through. He was lucky not to have permanent paralysis.
