Internet picture. Rescued her from the Humane Society after her owner turned her in for digging and escaping (but left her alone for most of the day). She had just had a toe amputated and under no pain meds she was great with us. Knew we would keep her.

Sadie is agressive towards female dogs but wonderful with kids and people. She is about 8 and acts about 4. Sadie is learning that playing is okay and she has a home. Sadie passed away at home on Jan 6 2010. We will hold her in our hearts always.

Sadie went missing night before last. There were dog prints all over. There is a black lab that comes to visit ( the only dog she seems to like ) and he had her follow him out. She was gone all day and night. I figured if she wasn't back by nightfall, she wouldn't be back. Sadie doesn't wander. This morning, after no sign of her, we heard her wimpering. She had gotten under the house sometime in the night, (left the gate open all day and night just in case) She wasn't comming out though. The hole she has dug is tight and it was mostly full of mud/water and very cold. Finnally got her out and brought her in, washed her down, warmed her up and she looks a little sore but unhurt. Really smells of old dog. Almost thought she may have left like Bandit had. Now I am back to choosing a day. :(

Working up to saying goodbye... :(
Sadie is showing more pain in movements and a little more aggression towards other animals that were not a problem before. This is a hard one, she is still great with my family and me. So far as I can reach into her dish and all she does is back up, cock her head to the side asking why and waits. Don't let a cat walk anywhere near though. So, working up to it for all concerned, Sadie, other animals and us. (In case she doesn't realize it is one of us).

It is cooler now, and, guess what? I feel better!! Playing, running, jumping... If only my people would get out here and play as much. Maybe if I act silly enough.....
