Somethings in the Air --

And it's not gaseous food byproducts! Mom has been cleaning, getting the trash out, obsessing over pee marks and scolding Dani and me about them. She keeps muttering - What would Lisa think? Is that like WWJD stuff? Hmmm....

On another note, my buddy Anikin is moving down south to Creswell soon. He and his Mom Martha came over for food and movies and we all had a fine time! Dani and I even let Anikin chew on our cow poke. No fussing at all! I sure will miss Anikin and Martha - she taught me how to sing at the Dog Park. I know my Mom's going to miss them too - awwwoooo.

I will have to keep the diary updated with news...I know there's something going on - Mom isn't even 'working' today. And it's Thursday -- very suspicious. I hope it doesn't include washing me. Humph.... BOL - Sergei

When I’m Howling You—o—o-oooo

Mom looks at me with an astonished look on her face. ‘What in the world is wrong Sergei?’ ‘Yiop-ip-nooothing Mom!’ I reply perkily. It seems that since I have found my voice (Thanks Potso Pal Martha and Anakin!) I enjoy performing along with the sirens that pass by on a nearby major road. We’re talking about 5-8 times a day here. We’re close by several elder care communities (There are even ambulances lurking in the grocery store lots, just waiting for the next call to come in. Kind of ghoulish, I think!) It’s also a very busy road with speeders. Wooo-oooooyip!

Mom has told people when I sing, I sound as if I’m being eviscerated, and that I am in excruciating pain, but I’m not! I just make my special noise – it is QUITE distinctive, if I do say so! My face apparently also communicates what mom calls ‘Fear and Loathing’. While I am howling I throw my head back a little bit and rooooolll my eyes side to side to be sure I am communicating with anyone who is hard of hearing. I have to be sure my song I heard after all!

Mom doesn’t mind me howling, as long as she has a mute button on her phone, but she does discourage Senseless Barking events. I don’t know why that is – many times one can lead to the other!

Wait --- I hear something!! OOoowhaoooooiiipe!!!

Baby, it's COLD outside!

Wow! My (figurative) hat is off to my fellow Dogsterians who live in colder climates. I just about froze my fuzzy rear end off this morning on the walk. I heard mom mumble from the inside of her heavy double coat:
"Jeebers - it's like 20 out here! Hurry up pups!!"
And there are dogs all around who do this in the cold all day, every day!!
I'm just a little wussie, I guess.
Sorry for such little input lately - Mom's not letting me on the computer much. It's a New Year though, and she's got a laptop with a wireless connection, so I hope she'll let me shout out more often. - xoxox Sergei

Lots of News!

Howldy everyone - I have had a very busy life lately. Mom's been working really hard and I can hardly get a paw in edgewise to update my diary! Lyle and Spring sent me some way-yummy treats and Mom some stickers. Wag More - Bark Less. Mom's taking those words to heart.

Well - starting about a 8 weeks ago, Mom started taking me on loong drives to the woods where we met a tumble of happy little puppies and puppy mommies called Pomeranians. I was there to test out some of the little ladies to see if one would be a good companion for mom. She's missed having a cuddle pup since my brother Pomeroy passed over the Rainbow Bridge, and I just don't get 'into' that touchy-feely stuff. Just letting her rub my tummy in the morning is about all the cuddle time I can do. Humph!!

Mom decided that this one kooky little lady bandit was the one for her, and Dancer and I pretty much ignored each other. A good sign everyone has told her. Dani came home a week ago, and she was NOT as much fun as she was when we came to visit. Mom fussed a lot over her - she had to take anibiotics and didn't want to be touched...just pouted for a good 3 days.

What a change time makes! 4 more days and she's a little pistol - scooty runs all around mom in the mornings outside. She has to work on the potty training thing - not as bad as I was, but .... she'll learn!

Another really odd thing - she makes barky faces, and all that comes out is a funky cough noise! Mom was told that Dancer (Dani now) was de-barked when she was a puppy. She makes a lot of different noises though - she can even sound like a cat sometimes! That made me stare at her! She's a happy little soul, and likes to tease me now. I get back at her though. When mom is petting her, I push between them, and spin around so my butt is in Dani's face. I call it my patented 'Talk to the Butt' maneuver. Then we just chase our tails in circles. It's starting to become a way of greeting for us.

Better go now - Mom's gotta get back to work - BOL!!

I have been Tagged! So I'm spreading the fun!

Howldy All!

I've been Tagged, and I'm going to share!

Here's how it's done:

The Rules
(Hint: Copy and paste the rules so you don't have to type them again):

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their diary the rules and their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!

My Seven Random Facts:

1) I am terrific at scooting on my behind - I make a happydance out of it! I don't have messes to clean off (usually), or bugs- I just looove the feel!

2) I have recently found my 'voice' while going to Potso Dog Park. My buddy Anakin was demonstrating, and Mom encouraged me to join in by warbling too! I still look like I'm in pain, or frightened, and all the pups come to see what's wrong, but I like singing! I now sing to sirens and the coyotes too.

3) I will walk on my hind legs for Chicken Jerky - new trick for me!

4) I like having cuddle time with Mom in the morning. If I work it juuuust right, I can make her stay and pet me for almost 15 minutes!!

5) I really enjoy the company of other smallish dogs - big dogs make me nrevous.

6) My best friend is Anakin - he's a very intelligent terrier mix with huge satellite ears! He loves to sniff peoples breath.

7) I have a grrlfriend at the park too! Her name is Molly, and she is the most friendly lady mini-dachshound I have ever met. She rolls over on her back and wiggles and wags her tail allll the time! She loves giving kisses to my Mom. I will have to get pictures posted somehow.

Let's see - I'm tagging -

Bring me a…….SHRUBBERY!

Howldy everyone! Have you noticed that the Rosettes for May are tiny little trees, or (dare I say) SHRUBBERIES??! I love Shrubberies – I am a smallish dog, and as such, the taller species of trees are intimidating for me. I mean – how high can I mark my spot? Now with Shrubberies, I can tinkle thoroughly – so everyone can tell my mark, how my day has been, and the whole Sergei saga! I think I like the one called Burning Bush the best. Fiery statements with that one.

I think my mom loves Shrubberies also – she keeps muttering stuff about the Knights who say NI! And needing a Shrubbery to be brought to her…she’s kinda goofy that way.

I’m starting to worry about her…now she’s saying ‘Then, when you have found the shrubbery, you must cut down the mightiest tree in the forest...
Wiiiiiithh.... A HERRING!’

Um – I think I’ll just trot along beside her and tinkle on the Shrubberies. She must have Spring Fever. Happy May!

St Patrick's Day Pondering -

Happy St Patrick's day all!
Wasn't he the guy that scared all the snakes out of Ireland? I love finding snakes here in Oregon. I carry them around like wiggling spaghetti - I let them go without squishing them though.

I have decided that I'm at least part Irish, and that I am a Pooka! I seem to have glowing yellow eyes, and can be impish. I poke Mom in the ankles and calf, and at the dog park, I poke my buddies in the side or on their hind ends, so there! What's that Mom --- a Pooka is black and can be as large as a horse? And it doesn't poke people, but runs away with them? Well -- darn! I'm just a pokey little pup then!!

Anyway -- I hope everyone enjoys Corned Beef and Cabbage sometime soon - it's tasty! BOL - Sergei

Let the Good Times Roll !

Laissez les bons temps rouler.
Or -
Let the Good Times Roll!

Hmm - as Star
would say, this is a Ponderable.
I know several dogs that love to roll in stink. One of my best buddies at the Dog Park nicknames is Stink. Tim
loves the stink, and I think Cricket
is a Stinkaholic!

So- you have Good Times when you Roll, you then Roll in stink, and then you can share the Stink and have more Good Times! I like Mardi Gras then! Yay!! Go for it!! Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Another note on smells - Mom's friend Brian told her the top-secret Calvin Klein Scent Key of Relationships -

When you first meet -Obsession
When you are in Love - Eternity
When you break Up - Escape

Mom laughed a lot at that one - I thought it was darn nice of Calvin to make it easy for Nose Impaired to communicate.

Happy Mardi Gras!
