Arrival Story: When we had to put our Gypsy to sleep due to cancer, I had seen his photograph on the internet through Catahoula Rescue. There was something sad and pleading in him and yet goofy and friendly. Just in one photo I saw that. He was BIG, and goofy. I decided to have a friend in New Orleans check into him and she was so taken by him that she rescued him. She was sure he was purebred. He was unsure of himself and what all this was about but he was so cooperative. She kept him unti he could be flown to Montana the first of October. We set his birthdate as Oct 1. On New Years eve he was out walking with me in the snow, got off on some hot scent and disappeared. He was lost again and I was beside myself. Four days later with everyone in ten miles out helping me search, snow coming down, temps falling drastically, I almost gave him up for gone. He was found just before temperatures reached -61 with the wind chill and he was already in early stages of hypothermia. He would not have lived. He was glad to be rescued twice and I was glad too.

Bio: BlueJeans is a very large male. He is friendly with other dogs once he gets acquainted with them but he really just loves to be with his Mum. He looks to be purebred, the older style Catahoula. He was about a year and a half when he flew into our world here, he works cattle on my little ranch, hikes with his Houla sisters, is very protective of his Mum and is learning agility now. He is happy to have a home and be rescued and is settling in very nicely, feeling secure finally and happy. He loves to go in the car riding and he is crate trained. A terrific watch dog, but doesn't mind visitors that his family welcome.
