Arrival Story:
My grown daughter wanted a dog and my assistant at work knew of two little ones recently found on a downtown street and who were taken to the shelter. We visited one day at lunch and I took Honey as a loan to see if my daughter would like her. My daughter just laughed and told me she wanted "a real" dog. I returned Honey to the pound but offered to keep her following her spaying until she recovered. I fell in love with her and couldn't return her.
Bio:
Honey works with my cat, Lipton, to sneak food. As she is too fat to get up on chairs, much less tables or counters, Lipton does this. She then delivers whatever food I may have foolishly left out, such as a loaf of bread, leftovers, or Halloween candy, and Honey drags it off and eats it all!

No more Honey:
Honey died today, October 5, 2007, from Cushings disease. She was a sweet and wonder dog and will be missed by all who knew her.

Honey got to the point where she was in visible pain and just couldn't get comfortable. There was nothing more I could do for her so I had her put to sleep. I held her at the end and she looked into my eyes until the light left them. I will always love and miss her joyful, funny, silly antics. This will be the last entry in her diary. Thank you to all her pup pals and friends.

I'm having a hard time breathing (pant-pant), and Mom has to carry me up the stairs and to bed at night. But I'm still enjoying my food (yeah!) and I get lots of it (double-yeah!) and she says as long as I'm not in too much pain to eat and wag my tail I must be doing ok. But really, I'm not. I don't think I'll be around long. But it's ok, sort of, because I'm well loved. Sigh. I wish everybody (except dog beaters) could live forever!

My vet says I have Cushings. I don't like it. And I can tell my mommy doesn't like it, either. But she'll take care of me. I don't have any energy and I'm making lots of messes. But I do get to eat more often. But mommy's sad.
