Arrival Story:
I was out of town at a conference and when I came home, my hubby asked if we could get Charlie (cute little pup at a store). I said no, we already have two cockers in a one bedroom apartment. After a week of constant moping, I gave in. Now I know the terror and pain suffered by puppy mill animals (which is where almost all pet stores get their dogs). I'll never do that again. Go to www.hua.org/Prison/Puppymills.html to learn more.

Bio:
Charlie Angel has lost three sisters in his little life. Lady Persephone (1986-1997, died in 14 hours of pancreatits) and her daughter Aubrey Anne (love of my life, 1987-2003, nearly died of pancreatits in 1998); and recently 9 month old Chloe, who had cocker rage and savagely attacked without provocation or even knowledge that she was doing it. God, the trainers, and our vet, knew we did all we could. We almost lost him last year of a rare blood condition, and he continues to be on medication. Dogs are angels, I have no doubt about that. Never trust a person that doesn't love dogs. Since Charlie turns 14 in March 2004, he needs a coat and boots to keep him warm. Last summer, he got to go canoeing, kayaking, and swimming for the first time. Didn't like swimming so much, but loved canoeing and kayaking! Charlie loves being an only child now, and gets to go with his mama everywhere. He takes his mama on 45-60 minute powerwalks every day, and takes several power naps each day. He sleeps faithfully at my side as I grade papers, write my books, and read. The photograph of him holding the bone is funny because he was *really* tired, but wouldn't drop it because Chloe might get it. He sat like this til he nearly fell over sleeping! UPDATE: Charlie passed away unexpectedly and quickly on June 25, 2004. I will mourn him, like Aubrey, for years to come. I miss my sweet angel more than anything. But I know that he's with his Aubrey and Lady at Rainbow Bridge, and they're all wondering why I'm so sad because they're happy and waiting for me there.
