Arrival Story:
My father saw a speck across the campground in Canyon de Chelly that made a beeline directly for him. She was scabby and fleabitten and her leg bowed out. The managers said, "Just leave her there, puppies come in to the campground all the time". My father said, "No way" and so Shorty began her long trip to Tucson. Eventually I adopted her because she was too rambunctious for my parents to handle. She has disco spondylitis - probably because of early malnutrition - but she has made the transition from ugly duckling to beautiful swan!
