Best Tricks:
Pugsley does an awesome 360 spin and dance when you give him a treat-- he must have learned it somewhere along the way, because he did it when we first brought him home. Imagine our surprise to have a circus dog!
Arrival Story:
We found Pugsley through a listing on Petfinder.com and drove six hours to Jacksonville, Texas, to pick him up. He looked pitiful when we got him-- skin and bones, fingernails curled under, brown fur where he should have been white-- but he was such a happy, hyper baby when he found out he was going for a ride. Oliver was very nervous and didn't know what to do with his new brother, and it took him a week or two to stop being so scared. Now they are best friends and play constantly. Pugsley has a very bad case of heartworms, which we are currently fighting. He needs lots of happy thoughts and prayers so he can get better again and play (err, hump) with his brother!
Bio:
Klein Animal Shelter in Jacksonville, Texas is a wonderful facility with terrible employees. Pugsley was not treated well and adopted to us without a rabies shot. He was very sick when we got him, but we didn't know because the shelter gave us false information. If you or someone you know have adopted a dog from Klein Animal Shelter in the past year, please take your dog to a vet and make sure he or she is in good health. Pugsley has had a really rough time due to the negligence of people who were paid for and obligated to take care of him. Please don't let this happen to any more pups.
