Arrival Story:
our 14 year old cocker spaniel had died. and since we had absolutely fallen in love with the saint bernard breed we decided to rescue a saint. we found the group upstate saint bernard rescue on petfinders, filled out the paper work, got approved, drove 2 1/2 hours, and then FELL IN LOVE. mozart was the biggest dog we had ever seen. i was overwhelmed at his size and then at how incredibly gentle he was. he was just the goofiest dog. of course we took him home that day.

Bio:
mozart was one of the lucky dogs that came out of rescue. the rescue worker didn't know much about him when she got him and she only had the dog for 2 days until we adopted him. the best we can figure is that he came from a breeder and they didn't want him because he had a liver nose and beautiful light amber eyes that could melt the crulest of hearts. those colors are faulty but he still made the best pet. we had mozart for only a few short months before he passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly. that was by far the saddest day of my life and my husband's. it seemed as though the grief would never pass. a month or so later we decided to get another saint. we purchased a puppy. we figured the constant attention and care a puppy needs will help take our minds off the death of our boy. it did for quite a while. as bubbles grew up somethng very ery started happening. so many of mozart's personality traits started showing up in bubbles- the way he whined when he wanted something, the way he very obnoxiously begged to go for a walk at 7.00pm every single night, the same way mozart would run around the yard and just about belly flop into his pool, and the way bubbles took mozart's toy dumbell off of the china hutch where it had been out of reach for so long and put it in my lap one night. our boy is still here.
