Arrival Story: i have always loved dogs, and i really wanted one of my own. i needed/wanted a little dog because i am living in apts now and will be for a while. i was looking in various newspapers and shelters for a while and finally came across pom/rat terrier mixes for sale. i corresponded with the owner for a week or two before decided to drive out there to see them. i got there and they showed me the female first and she wasn't what i was expecting. so then they brought out the little male and he was it!! he practically jumped on me and would not stop licking me. it's like he picked me. i had to have him! my boyfriend paid for him as a birthday present to me and amlet has been the best gift anyone has ever given me. he's my baby and i love him soooo much!!
Bio: Its now been over a year of having my baby, and I love him more than ever. Getting him was the best choice i ever made. He is the most loving dog I have ever seen. There is something very special about him. I know it was fate that I ended up with him.
And now amlet has himself a little annoying sister to pick on all day! It took some adjustment for him, which I expected, but overall i think he's very happy to have pumpkin around. They have a lot of fun together!

Funniest Behavior: when he gets his back scratched really hard his whole body gives out. he usually falls over. he really enjoys it!
Amlet is my first dog living on my own. I've always been an animal lover, but I never knew how far i could go. The day i picked amlet up started a very different life for me. He's been number one since the beginning. He's my baby. I don't think others can understand what he means to me. Most of my family and friends think I'm crazy, but I just don't think they have has this kind of love for an animal. They're really missing out. He is by my side through everything. When i look at him I know he feels the same about me.
The thing that means the most to me is that I know how much he needs me. Amlet has never been an independent dog, he is very close to his daddy and I. Him and I have a special bond that I've never had with anyone, let alone a dog. I know how ridiculous that sounds, but I really can't explain it. I really feel that I was meant to have him. I can't imagine life without him. I love my boy.
So the other day mom and dad took me on a super long car ride to the middle of nowhere. We get there, and I see these giant monsters, and I"m sooo not happy. Mom said they were horses, and that I gotta be good to them. So i just followed her into a barn. Next I see tons and tons of hamster, gerbils, midget dogs...I had no clue what they were! We went to the cage with the really little rats and mom picked one up....like she wanted it. I was like WHOA MOM, put that rat down, lets bust this joint. So she decided she wants it, and her and daddy hand over some cash. UGHGHGHGHHGGHGH
On the way home, mom was intent on me sitting by the rat. I was so not cool with that! She was terrifying me! When we got home, i got a little better. The rat is kind of fun. I realized she's staying too...so I guess I have a friend now! Thats pretty cool because I get lonely sometimes, and I just love to play. The rat seems to like playin too...she runs right into me, grabs my tail or neck and just chews away. Its cool, I'll allow it for now.
So we'll see what happens, guys. I hope the rat grows, so I can be a little rougher, right now mom and dad have to calm me down sometimes when i push her over. Its ok, she's gotta learn how to play with the big dogs....its rough world out there.
well, we are back home now! it was a fun three weeks, but i like it here cause mommy doesn't put me in the crate much. i miss missy though. she is my best friend! i love to play with her and annoy her! i can't wait to see her again and steal her doggy biscuits!
i was sooooo happy to see my daddy. he came back home today too and i freaked out when he walked in the door. i licked him for like twenty minutes. i'm a super loving dog and i can't get enough of people!
well, mom says it's time for bed soon so i have to get all my energy out by running for about ten minutes straight.
