Arrival Story:
Cloverdale (Indiana) Police Department purchased K-9 "Alec" from Superior Canine Academy (Morgantown, KY) in Sept. 1999. Alec is a dual purpose K-9 (Narcotics/Patrol). He is the departments 1st and only K-9 and loves being a police officer and assisting anyone that needs help. He has definitely made criminals aware of his expertise and has maintained an impact in law enforcement and is well respected by the community. K-9 Alec was officially retired from the police dept. on May 31, 2007. K-9 Alec is one of the longest serving K-9's (+7.5 yrs.) in the area.
Bio:
K-9 "Alec" was bred and trained in Hungary. He was shipped to the USA in 1999, where he continued to be trained for law enforcement.
K-9 Alec had two major drug arrests/seizures: 1) 92.5 lbs. marijuana, 2) 278 lbs. marijuana. Has over 100 arrests associated with illegal narcotics and aprehension of criminals that have fled from law enforcement. He also participated in numerous drug/anti-crime awareness demonstrations to the local schools and other civic organizations. He has left a mark in this community as a hard worker/crime fighter and is still highly respected for his dedicated service to the Cloverdale Police Dept. and community. His "Bark" is definetly missed while on PATROL!
