My Thoughts on Things

Basement Dwellin'

Well, as of late (due to new floors that I've talked about already), I have been spending alone time in our basement while the folks go to work. And while I like how dramatic that sounds (heehee), I must admit to enjoying it. It's quiet, carpeted, air conditioned and it's my dad's main hang out/work space at night and on the weekends so I sorta feel like I'm in the king's castle. Not a bad deal, overall.

However, I am still most excited when Mom gets home from work. Makes me feel like all is right with the world. I grab a bone and jump on their bed to gnaw away the evening (taking a periodic break to rattle my bell at the back door for the "I need to pee" signal).

Speaking of the back yard - did you know that mole is still out there? Frankly, I'm not convinced it's a mole... could be ANYTHING, if you think about it (and a frightening thought that is) but I am not scared - I will continue to bark until he/she/it exits the bushes on our property.

Some have said that I look ridiculous barking at a bush. I don't listen to a word they say...

TaTa for Now,
Max.

This Floor is Still Buggin'

Hey - just wanted to update you on my ongoing adjustment with that new wood floor we got... the one I'm scared to jump from the couch onto?

Not going so well.

Could somebody maybe get an Oriental Rug in here? Or just a throw rug? A bath mat? Something? Anything?

God, I miss that old smelly, stained carpeting...

Finding peace through meditation,
Max.

Friends and Floors

Otis, who I suppose could be called my "cousin," was here for the holiday earlier this week. I can't say that I didn't have a good time, although Otis is rather young and seems to need a lot of attention. When I tire of his forward nature I used to run to the basement and hide with my father, but as Otis has gotten better with the whole "stair thing," that is less effective - so now I bare my teeth and give a little "growl." I'm not sure how effective this is either... I just don't come off as threatening, no matter how I try.

In other news, my parents put in a new floor - and it's really nice. It's wood. Looks great. Unfortunately I am used to jumping off the couch and onto CARPET, so right now I'm a little freaked out... but I think I'll get the hang of it.

I'm off. There's a mole in our back yard bushes that needs a good barking to.

Affectionately yours,
Max
