A day in the life of Akari

"Home again"

I am so glad I am finally home and my mom is home again. I can't believe that women left for 5 whole days. I couldn't eat, sleep and I was just so depressed. I stayed at Grandma's but it just wasn't the same. She said that she had to go out of town for some training. I don't know who training is, but I don't like her. I don't like sharing my mom with anyone. I'm just glad that she is home. I love you mommy, please don't leave me again.

"Happy Birthday to me"

Yippee!! I will be turning the BIG ONE tomorrow. I am so excited, I just can’t wait. I think mommy has a really big surprise for me, but I just can’t seem to figure it out. I’ve already had a really great weekend. Let’s see, on Friday night we had a visitor come over but he didn’t bring me any treats, so I was pretty upset about that. Then on Sat. morning, I mean early in the morning, my new friend Oren came over with her mommy and daddy and my Uncle Peter. Mommy said that they traveled all night long. I wanted to play with her, but mommy wouldn’t let me. She said that they were all really tired and that I should get some more sleep before my big day. So at about 7 in the morning, I decided that I’ve had enough sleep and I wanted to PLAY!! So I started screaming for my mommy to let me out. She finally woke up and of course she took me right out for our walk. When we go home, Oren was still sleeping so I decided that I needed to entice her to play with me. I kept trying to get her to play with me and she just wouldn’t. I don’t know what it was. Did I smell? Mommy just gave me a bath. I couldn’t tell. But I wasn’t about to give up just yet.

Then mommy packed up a bunch of stuff and off to Grandma’s we went. She said that we had to get to Grandma’s early so that she can cook because we were having my birthday party at Grandma’s!! Yippee!!! I’m having a birthday party! I had so much fun at Grandma’s, except when I got the sprinklers turned on me. All my friends were there and wow, I got so many presents. Thank you everyone for all my presents. I really liked them all. Mommy says that I can’t have them all at once though, shucks. Oh, I even got a birthday cookie; actually, I got a lot of birthday cookies that day. :~)

And then on Sunday, we went to Morgan Hill for some festival that Mommy wanted to go to. I didn’t complain though, I thought it would be fun since I got to hang out with mommy all day long. I actually kind of like these things, especially when we walk through the food section. I just love it when I find some left over BBQ on the floor. Mommy never lets me have human food so this is my only chance. She’s getting faster at stopping me though.

Monday was a calm day. Mommy dropped me off at Grandma’s while she ran some errands. I just relaxed and caught up on some much needed sleep after such a crazy weekend. Thanks mommy for such a great birthday! Life is great being me! :~)

“On the road again”

Mom’s been acting really strange this past week. She’s been putting her clothes into this suitcase. She did this last week also and I didn’t get to see her on Saturday. She said that she was going to this Reno place. I don’t know where that’s at, but I sure did miss her. I had to spend the weekend at Grandma’s. It was fun, but I really missed my mommy. She’ packing some more clothes again, but this time she’s also putting my toys and things together in a bag. She tells me that we are going on a road trip. Road trip? Okay, yippee!! I’m not sure what a road trip means but I know it can’t be a bad thing because Grandma’s also going with us!! Mommy says that Cousin Sandy just bought a brand new house in Las Vegas so we are going to visit her and Taylor. This is going to be so much fun. I can’t wait. Mommy also says that I get to meet my Great Grandpa! Man, I am so excited. I’ve never had a Great anything before in my life!!! Sin city, baby, here I come!! Life is great being me! :~)
