Arrival Story:
I had always wanted a pug, and my shih tzu, Gizmo, gets lonely when I'm at work. I looked around and finally found Cookie!

When I got him, he looked very healthy. However, 2 days later, he lost his appetite and was very sick. After taking him to the vet, he was tested for Parvo...luckily the test came back negative. However, he was displaying the symptoms of distemper. Cookie was on an I.V. and antibiotics for 2 weeks, and now he seems to have pulled through. All he had was a cold. Cookie is enjoying his time in Canada and it is so good to be with him again!

My Tail of Devotion for Cookie

Dear Cookie,
I had always wanted a pug. When I saw you, I knew you were perfect for me. On the bus ride home, I took you out of the box they put you in and you crawled up my chest, and snuggled right into my shoulder. I thought that everything was perfect.
But then you got so sick. Your already tiny body got smaller. You wouldn't eat, you couldn't walk, I was losing you. I brought you to the vet. You stayed there for the first month I had you. But I was there everyday. I couldn't leave my baby alone.
As the vet ran tests, he couldn't find out what was wrong with you. You were getting weaker and weaker. I was told that I would have to make a tough decision.
So I brought you home. I stayed by your side and did everything I could. And little by little, you got better.
I know that your life in Korea wasn't easy. We were discriminated against so much. I'm sorry that pugs aren't popular in Korea. I'm sorry for all the mean things that people have said to you. I'm sorry that the vet always jabbed the needle in you so hard, and you looked at me...trying to be strong, but I could see the pain in your eyes. I'm sorry that I couldn't take better care of you.
Now you're with my parents in Canada. Don't worry. They are good people. They love you and send me pictures of you all the time. Our phone conversations center around much you've grown, all the new things you are learning to do, all the people in Canada who love you so much.

I will be there soon. Gizmo, and you and I can start our new lives together. No one is going to hurt you again, I promise.
Mommy loves you.

This is a special Tail of Devotion

Hi everyone,
Some of you already know this, but because of Mom's current situation, Gizmo and I are living in Canada with Mom's parents. Mom will join us on September 3rd and we will not be returning to Korea. Sorry we haven't kept in touch with everyone, but it's been a hard time for all of us. Gizmo and I are doing well, and Mom's slowly recovering from the shock of the unexpected life changes, but we'll be back on track again in September. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
