Likes: sitting in mom's lap, going for walks or rides
Pet-Peeves: putting clothes on (even when shivering)
Favorite Toy: a Lion Puppet, to play "paramours" with
Favorite Food: cheese, because it's so easy to chew
Favorite Walk: anywhere, as long as it's a nice warm day
Best Tricks: so far, no tricks, appart from doing the briefest, split second, barely bum to floor "sit" to still qualify for a treat
Arrival Story: I never thought of adopting a "senior", I even had a "cut off age" of 6 in mind, but when I saw Lacey on Petfinder, at the SOS (Save Old Souls) rescue group in southern Alberta, I couldn't help falling in love. She is in good health, appart from a heart murmur and some of her teeth being removed, and deffinetly doesn't "act like a senior"!
Bio: I wanted to get a companion and play pal for Mya, although so far they are still in the "barely tolerating one another" phase : ( It's only been 2 months since Lacey's arrival, so there's still hope for a friendship to blossom eventually ; )
I'm sad to announce the passing of our sweet little Lacey. On January 14th, 2009, she had a massive stroke and we had to say goodbye. We miss you soooo much :(
Hope you have found an eternal ray of sunshine to bask in...

Wow, it's only been 3 years? Weird, feels like this has always been my life... almost can't remember my awful past before mommy and daddy rescued me...
I'm doing pretty good, only my eyes are wreaking havoc for some reason... some would say it's because of my age... I think that's a bit insulting, one should never discuss a lady's age!
Anyway, yeah, back to my eyes. Been having some problems lately as my cataracts seem to be advancing and I can't see the fine details like I used to. The other day, I accidentally scratched my right eye with a prickly branch that I didn't even notice! That eye has healed nicely now, after a trip to the vet and constant eye drops... I really didn't like those dreaded eyedrops!
Anyway, now that my right eye is doing better, I got some sort of cyst on my left one! This is just annoying, although, the good thing about this new inconvenient ailment, is that I get to have a yummy pill pocket treat every night! :P
Well, on April 10th I had to have surgery to fix a Hernia. I also had my teeth cleaned at the same time and I didn't even need to have any extractions!
Everyone, especially, Mommy, were worried about me and how I would manage under the anesthetic because of my really bad heart murmur, but I did great!
Well, it was my two year adoption anniversary on August 8th, but mommy was so preoccupied with worry about one of my bad teeth that she didn't even remember my big day! At least she doesn't have to worry about my tooth anymore... it fell out... and I can tell you, I sure don't miss it in the least... it was kinda nice right after cause I got to eat yummy soft food for almost a whole week ;p so I guess that was a sort of celebration LOL...
