I just wanted to let everyone know that we lost our sweet boy Max at 2
o'clock Wednesday morning. He bloated for the fifth time and this time his stomach twisted. The vet recomended that we let him go. He has been into the emergency clinic the two nights prior for minor bloating. She seemed
to think that there was something more going on to make him bloat so
much. It was the hardest decisioin I've ever had to make but in the
end I couldn't take seeing him suffer so much. He was always such a
happy boy and loved being with us. He even looked up at us and wagged
his tail when we went in to share our final moments. We stayed with
him until the end. I made sure that he could see me and just kept
petting him. We loved him so much, I just wish we would of had more
time with him. We only had him a short time but he brought so much
into our lives and into our family. He will be deeply missed. We got Max in September from Weimaraner Rescue of North Texas as a foster dog. We fell in love with him and couldn't let him go so we adopted him. He was 10 years old.
I love Christmas!!! We went up to Grandmommy and Granddaddy Ricke's ranch in Bastrop on Thursday and came home late on Christmas eve! I had so much fun running around and sniffing everything. Holly and I even played tug with a stick!! Mommy & Daddy said I was acting more like a puppy than a 10 year old. They have these two huge animals there Mommy said that they were donkeys (whatever those are) we sniffed at each other through the fence and then I ran up and down the fence line to tease them. The one they call Daisy didn't like me much but the other one Jackson was cool!! They also had the other animals which Mommy told me were sheep (they look like goats to me!) Mommy said they would be scared of me and she was correct they never came up to the fence to say hi!! Daddy took us fishing when his cousins got there and I went in the water try to help them catch a fish. Holly caught a few in her mouth but they were on the hook so I told her those didn't count. Holly stayed down by the pound and got really dirty and had to have a bath (ha, ha I just had my feet washed off!!). I fished for a little while then went up and layed in the house with my Aunt Sarah (she's a Golden Retriever). I got tons of treat and toys!! Santa even brought me my own extender leash!! I hope all of my friends have a Happy New Year!! Well I think I'm going to go sun myself since it is a nice and warm day out!!
Wow!! What a great day I am having. Mommy and Daddy told me that they have adopted me and I will always be there boy!! I am so happy. It's so hard for us 10 year olds to find a good forever home. Let me tell you a little about my life before now. When I was just a pup a Police Ofiicer in El Paso was my daddy and he loved me very much but one day when I was 5 he didn't come home. His friend told me that he was killed in the line of duty. That is when I first went into rescue. I went home with two other people over the next 5 years and I don't really remeber much about either of them!! My new mommy and daddy came and rescued me adn now I am finally part of ther family!! I love my new Mommy and Daddy so much I even love my crazy sister Holly who always bites on my ears. Mommy said that we would go out and celebrate at Millie Bush Bark park and Petsmart later this week. I can't wait!! I hope I get lots of treats at petsmart! Well all this excitment has made me sleppy, I think it's time for a nap!
