Well, after 4 weeks of a serious illness I am on the path to the rest of my life. I am not allowed in the back yard for fear of a toxic substance that compromised my immune system and made for a critical comeback thanks to antibiotics and steroids. Thankfully it wasn't (as feared) a bleeding tumor (cancer) and untreatable or epilepsy which would have meant a life of meds. No more seizures or weight loss (rapid) and my blood and temperature are back to normal.
See you at the dog park which is where I would be regardless.

This is a VERY special day as I met my birth mother at the BX dog park...I will remember Sept 19/06 even though I really didn't remember her...she is beautiful and has a wide body just like me.....does the bum swivel and has a great human named Ms. Houseman caring for her....can't wait till she joins dogster and upload the real story and family pictures. Woof (WOW) can you imagine walking along and coming across your mother after 6 yrs...she is a lovely lady and I have a lot to look forward to now I have seen what I will be like in 4 years when I will be 10....ah, the Sr. years. Cheers to my mom Tippy!

Met Dudley and Frankie along with Kelly today and had a very fine stroll. Met up with the two Bernise Mt. dogs who are owned by the wonderful folk's at Helmut's sausage. We had met them last weekend and the male (who is still a stud) decided to mark Gord on his leg. Lucky wash day was Sunday so no harm done...just foul. After telling Kelly about this as they approached we stopped for some great play and conversation....after a few minutes Kelly picked up Dudley to find a bead of pee down his back...lucky Kelly was wearing gloves and no doubt Dudley(and her gloves) got a wash.....

Vernon Dogster Group now online

Our motto is "DIG-VERNON-DIG" and the group name is Vernon Dogsters..so far that is all we have come up with. We are having a bit of a furball with a 'baddogs' group to be first on the list of over 285 by adding asteriks before the group name...so far we have 4 and baddog has 3 but this will surely change as the dogwars heat up.

Excellent walk early this morning before thaw...looks pretty awful when temp is above freezing. See ya online or at BX if the freeze stays in the morning.

Soon, after this human new years foolery is over comes the real NEW YEAR...the year of the DOG!!!!!yeh, baby. Gord has been ill for last week and we will finally get back to BX today with the boys. Glad that odd year is over but thanks to Lori and Ben I have stepped up my walks and shed (something my breed doesn't re: hair) those summer pounds. Now it is up to Gord to shed his extra weight and walking with dogs is one great way to experience this. Received way too many chews for being a good dog so look forward to having those spread out over the next months. Had a real steak bone for the "eve". See ya at the park.........woof!

Two days...two balls

Geez.....now I know why Gord doesn't like to take my balls to the park. Two days in a row I left my balls along the trail.....but I know others will enjoy their finds as I have in the past..Lucky I am a female or he might ...well, we will leave that one alone. Freezing rain hasn't dampered the spirit of BX dog park and we met the "happy gang" walked with the Lhaso Sam and wished a safe journey to the free spirit...Cane or is it Kane....he is a beauty but an escapee that is asking for trouble. Hey, this is Gord's favorite day cause they )the days) start getting longer....oh, f or the dog days of summer.

Walked with Mac, Sydney, and Gun's n Roses (Ginger and Rosee)..geez even Ginger is taller than me! Diesel began with us but was looking for a more playful group with whom to romp. Guess we won't see Deis for a couple of weeks as his walkers are off on a holiday....Season's best to all and see you at the park all week.

Wow, even with the temp being well below freezing the sun at the park make every step worth while. Bruce S's song keeps interupting the "bird dog" song in Gords head. Today we walked with almost a dozen other dogs and merging with other groups going the opposit way tends to me a bit overwhelming for little dogs like me and the boys...not to mention Mac, Sydney and those others similarily vertically challenged. Farley and Diesel really got it going with the Shepherd and Rango-the dog Gord calls the giant Jack Russell. Running into the happy gang (Max, RJ and Bear?) had some interesting moments....dogs on medication can be growly I guess but all went well in the parting of the blending groups. Can't wait to get out again on Sunday and all the week leading up to Christmas....see ya at BX

BIG BEN and Lori

Excellent day at the park with my big buddy Ben and Lori. After a couple of rounds we met up with Tyson, the Rhodesian Ridgeback from Germany and the lovely freuiline that walks with him...watch out to the Shepherd that bit him as she has pepper spray if you ever attack him again!! We received an early Christmas present from Ben and Lori.....Gord can't wait to use his new clip-on treat bag...what a great idea and gift. My safety vest was a little small but it is the thought that counts and it will fit my neighbours little pup.

Hey, the treat bag works great and is tasty too. The boys came along for our afternoon stroll and we met Marley and Mary-other friends from the Army camp this summer-hope all works out well Mary. Pepper was a little terror attacking a lab and just about getting trampled in the process...we are working on his protective ways before he gets hurt.

Hope Lori writes an entry about her idea regarding how one act can create a larger action...say hi to her if you are in the Bay's lingerie dept....see ya on the walk!
