Favorite Walk: In the fields by the river Best Tricks: Opening the zipper on grandma's purse and stealing her gum Arrival Story: I found Teddy on a freezing cold winter night in January a couple years ago. I got home from work late and Lexi INSISTED we still go for a walk. We spotted Teddy eating snow, he wagged his tail and I asked him to follow us home and he did, with Lexi snapping at him all the way. Once inside, Teddy started violently throwing up and gasping for air. His coat was severely matted and there was ice on some parts of it too. Hanging from his collar was a large tie out clip. He was very under weight and needed sub-q liquids. He just sat there with his head on my lap. A follow-up visit at the vet's showed he was HW+ and it was advanced. It was love at first sight and the first time I ever considered the possibility of having another dog with Lexi.
As of December 13th 2006 we got official word (after several days in the hospital) that Teddy has cancer and chronic kidney failure. He has a 4 cm mass in his right lung - pulmonary carcinoma and yet he still remains the happy boy we've always known.
