A walk around the long block, he loves to visit with his K-9 buddies

Running after his ball or frisbee & jumping in the air to the catch them

Arrival Story:
We bought a house with a very large yard. We all wanted a lovable addition to our family. We learned that a local Petsmart was having a local SPCA adoption clinic. We went with the understanding we may not find a perfect match on our first try, but by the the grace of God, there he was, and we all knew it in an instant, it was love at first sight for all of us. We have had Beau for nearly five months now and it's like he has always been a part of our family.

Bio:
Although Beau is listed as an Australian Cattle Dog (the closest option), the vet says he is a Queensland Heeler. The difference being an Australian Cattle Dog has bull terrier as part of its DNA. A Queensland does not, making Beau a cross between a collie and a dingo. This breed dates back to the mid to late 1850's. Beau thinks he is a lap dog, so we humor him and let him believe he is. He loves to take rides in the car and must sleep in any room that has his family in it. Sometimes it even looks like he is smiling......really, we've all seen him do it! Beau loves his Ella, and he is really great at teaching her the rules of the yard....his rules!! He loves to sit on the top their dog house and watch over everything, plus it's the perfect veiw to the kitchen! Beau is the best dog! A rare gift.

The Love Beau

Beau is one of the smartest and lovable dogs we have ever had the honor of being a part of our family. Though he gets a little jelious of his sister Ella at times, when we give her, her loves, he is getting much better at realizing that he gets tons of love from everyone here and that he is never left out.

Beau has been wonderful at teaching Ella the ropes, she now barks at all the things that he use to. He just layes there and watches her. The funny thing is, he actually gives her a look, and she doesn't make that move until she gets his look, then she springs right up and does her barking thing.

Beau loves his shade. Though we have three nice shade trees in our large front yard, he has but one tree that basks in the shade of, and he follows that shade around all day, except ofcourse when the sprinklers are on, then he heads for the cover of the porch!

When Beau is outside with Ella, he reminds me of a lion watching over his pride. He is the king of his yard!
