My husband and I were at odds with a dog breed. He wanted big and hyper, no shed, no drool, and protective, I wanted big, protective, and NOT HYPER. After months and months of debate, we decided not to get a dog. I was sad about that as I had grown up with a St. bernard and Golden so I loved dogs and especially the larger breeds. Then 2 days before christmas, my husband goes off on a "business trip" and comes home up with Samson, a crate and 2 dog dishes. The best gift I ever received. He spent over a month researching the Cane Corso breed, talking with the few breeders in the US and visiting them. This breed had most of the charateristics we wanted. 4 years later... the best dog I have ever had and the most loving and great with kids.
