SLEEPING, eating, nice long walks, Capt'n Jack the Chihuahua and Finney the Westie
The automated can-opener, soup cans, the Mixer
anything right now, I love to chew things!
whatever Jill feeds me, and whatever Jack and Finney eat!
Big-Bear Lake, around the block, and car-rides on occasion
I can sleep on my back!
I never considered adopting a dog until recently. My family had a collie, Joey that we rescued from a shelter when I was in 7th grade, and he was a great dog. He was friendly, loved to run, and loved my two Netherland dwarf rabbits, Apollo and Bailey. Bailey would curl up and sleep in Joey's tail when he was just a baby.
Well, Joey passed on last year at 14 years old, but he lived a long and peaceful life with my family from the time he was 6 months old. I knew I'd always have a collie or sheltie as a dog in the future.
My sister, Jamie adopted a Westhighland Terrier after Joey died, and it helped my family in the healing process. A few months later, in February of this year, her twin sister Julie adopted a baby Chihuahua and named him Jack. I guess it was only a matter of time before I jumped on the bandwagon and adopted a pup of my own. So, I looked online for a good Sheltie breeder and found a couple down in Indiana that had a ready-to-adopt litter of pups. I picked a little tri-colored girl from a picture from the breeder. My mom and I made the four hour trip to the small Indiana town to pick up Corbyn.
Well, that was a week ago, and Corbyn is nearly a year old and having a good time in our house with her rabbit roommates and two older "brother", Capt'n Jack. Her other "brother" Finney moved out a couple months ago with his human, my younger sister who recently got married. We visit little Finney often!
I'll keep updating this as Corbyn gets older, but I'm enjoying her as a pup, even though she will be a fabulous friend and running partner when she gets older.
Thanks Mom, for putting up with our love of animals for so long. I know it's hard for you, but you will never know how much I appreciate your help. I love you :P)
