Bio:
UPDATE: Toby had to be put to sleep yesterday (9/5/2006). A cancerous tumor popped out of nowhere the other month on the side of his mouth. While the vet was able to remove most of what he could, he wasn't able to remove everything. Toby was given radiation pills to help get rid of what was left, but, I think the pills ended up doing more harm than good (as it sometimes is with regular chemotherapy for humans, as well). It lowered his immune system, which sort of allowed the remaining cancer cells to spread even quicker. Within weeks it finally got to the point where he was just suffering too much, so, my parents agreed with the vet to have him put peacefully to sleep. Thus, Toby went quietly to that big kennel club in the sky yesterday afternoon... where he will be joining our other family pets. I'm sure I could go on and on about him since he was such a wonderful dog. He totally fit the typical traits of a purebred Golden Retriever... intelligent, compassionate, loving, and extremely loyal. He led a very pampered life, so I'm sure he was always happy in being a part of our family. Thank you to all who have been wonderful friends with Toby here at Dogster.com.
