A Pet's Prayer (This was given to us by our vet) after Kandi- went to heaven

If it should be, that I grow frail and weak, And pain should keep me from my sleep, then you must do what must be done, for this the lasy battle cannot be won. You will be sad, I understand, don't let your grief then stay your hand, for this day, more than the rest, your love anf friendship stand the test.
We've had so many happy years (almsot 18) what is to come can hold no fears, you'd not want me to suffer so.
When the time comes please let me go, take me where my needs they'll tend,
only stay with me 'till the end, and hold me firm and speak to me, until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will see it is a kindness you do to me. Although my tail its last has waved, from pain and suffering I've been saved. Don't grieve it should be you, who decides this thing to do, we've been so close, we too, these years.
Don't let your heart hold any tears.
Smile for we walked together, for awhile...................................................... .

The vet came to our house to do the job and I held Kandi in my arms as she fell asleep, my Husband who was alive at that time dug a grave and we buried her in her favourite blanket with her toys, we placed a cross and evntually a rose called Candy on her grave, it is just outside my bedroom window, I see it every day as I open up my curtains. RIP my darling.

Our Dear Little Friend

Kandi, our little dog, our little pet, with ears the shape of butterfly wings, and your face the prettiest yet. Eyes and coat like soft brown velvet, with your long nose, what would we do without you, heaven only knows.
You seem to understand our moods and everything we say. The small attentions that you need, get through although now you are quite deaf and seldom hear a word we say.
You're always there to greet us when we step inside the door, and so very pleased to see us, clamouring with your paws for play.
Dear friend your such a treasure, love and loyalty combined, whatever fate there are we hope they'll be kind, and let us be together for a little longer yet.
How we love you, Kandi our dog, our little pet.

Kandi lived another 9 more months after this was written. Oh how very very much we miss you Kandi, even after 9 years have passed. I hope you are having a great time in doggie heaven with all your new pals!
