Who moved my bone?

Dad worked on removing a tree from the back yard this past week. Granddad came over to help, and boy did they make a mess. Since the weather was so nice, Mom gave me plenty of knucklebones to chew while I watched them work. I usually bury them under the mulch in the far corner of the back yard, but since there was a big new hole already dug, I hid my bone there instead. Saved me some work. Yes it did.

Well, wouldn't you know today Dad covered that dang hole, but he didn't tell me that he found the bone and threw it in the trash. Yes, the trash. A perfectly good bone. Gawd. So this evening I went out looking for it, and well, you know what happened to it. I sure didn't.

Mom didn't notice the mud and grass caked on my paws right away, but boy when she did, I was in the bathtub in no time at all. I didn't fight it. Why bother?

They owe me another bone. A big one.

The competition

Zoë had a sleepover this weekend. Her Mom went on vacation and she is being shuttled around town, staying with friends for the week. Mom and Dad are smitten with her. She has this cute, pouty mouth and she likes to hide under blankets, just like her profile says.

Zoë slapped me around a bit, but I fought back with flailing paws and lots of teeth. She is one tough wiggly b*%!$. She'll be back on Thursday, but for now I am alone again, content to spy on Walter and plot against those nasty little squirrels who taunt and tease.

Awesome new tag for my supercool new-ish collar

My fetching new tag from Fetching Tags (http://www.fetchingtags.net) arrived in the mail today. It's pretty darn big, but I guess I'll get used to it. Mom bought it online (with Dad's $) a few weeks ago and had been diligently checking the mailbox every day, anxiously awaiting its arrival. It came just in time for Valentine's Day. Whoop-de-doo. I'm sure I'll be modeling it (and the new doggy jacket she bought yesterday) very soon for the Dogster community.

Anal Sac Agony

Mom saw me butt scoot across the carpet in the living room when she returned home from work today. An hour later I was at the vet's office awaiting my first anal sac expression since July.

The nice vet tech gave me a treat as she raised the examination table. I just stood there holding it in my mouth like a lollypop. Gawd, it was uncomfortable, but now I feel much better.

Next we went to Wash Your Dog for a bath. Mom is on a roll. Not enjoying this day one bit. At least I got a new toy and some more delicious biscuits out of it.
