Attention, attention and more attention. She'll cry and whimper if someone walks by without saying hello and petting her. She loves people, people food and being with her mommy and daddy. She thinks she's a little person. "Dog? What's a dog?"
Frida isn't a huge fan of other dogs - big or small. She associates herself more with people. Also, she's not a "morning dog", so don't try to wake her up if she's sleeping.
That would definitely have to be "Pele", her sqeaky soccer ball. She's a huge fan of soccer and will kick the ball around with her mommy and daddy.
Any people food will do. She loves ice cream and mini marshmallows!
She loves taking walks by grandma and grandpa's house. Maybe the grass there is better - but she smiles when she's at their house.
Tricks? Tricks are for meager dogs - Frida is a princess!
We found Frida when she was 8 weeks old. Although she was born in Kentucky, her parents were nothing more than a bitch and stud, so Frida left home at a young age and tried to make a life for herself on the streets.
We first found Frida on the streets turning tricks for people. "Look at me, I can sit!" "Look at me I play fetch." all for a cheap thrill. So, one afternoon I had my husband play the part of a "john" and ask Frida for a quick trick. She obliged and we were able to convince her that a life on the streets was no life for a Chihuahua.
Since that fateful day in August, Frida has been living with us in New York, working on her drug habit and trying to stay off the streets. She has since been spayed and promises that she's now a one-family pup!
(Oh, yeah, Frida's mom has a vivid imagination!)
Frida was born May 27, 2003 in Kentucky. If you have a chihuahua that was born in that state on that day as well, I'd love to know...I've always been curious to see what Frida's siblings turned out like!

Winter is definitely not fun for a Chihuahua. It's too cold outside for a princess like myself. Thank goodness mommy bundles me up in my new pink tweed winter coat and my pink Lily boots. But between you and me, I still pretend like I have a broken leg, so she'll bring me back inside...I just don't like potty time in the winter.
Besides the weather, I think I'm ready to be a big sister. I have so much energy and I love to play...but mommy and daddy are very tall and big, and they can't get down to my size when I want to play with the Kong or my Chewy Vuitton purse. I'm hoping mommy and daddy bring home a new baby Chihuahua soon so that I can make a new friend.
Do you know of any Chihuahua's up for adoption in the New York/Long Island area? I promise that my mommy and daddy are the bestest parents in the whole world. Mommy once made me homemade cookies...just for Chihuahuas! And daddy lets me snuggle him every morning before he has to get up and showered for work.
Well, that's all for now. Once it starts to warm up, I'm sure I'll have more to write about.
