WOW!! What a Day!

Today was my 4th birthday and what a special day it turned out to be! My mom took me to the Three Dog Bakery, where I was showered with all sorts of treats, such as a Collie Cannoli, Ruffles and Peanut Butter Brendle! Mom also bought this ridiculous birthday hat so she could take my picture for my Dogster page. (Humans...why do they think they always have to dress us up!!! We're DOGS!!)

Later this evening, the entire family took me on this marathon walk, which included the local DOG PARK! Now THAT'S fun! They let me lose and I can really be a dog!

When I got home, I logged onto Dogster and couldn't believe all of the nice pups that sent me messages and Rosettes! What a day!!!

Time for bed....sweet dreams.

I now have a new full time job in Arizona. It's very demanding and I'm on call every hour of the day. Our new backyard has many lizards that need chasing and I have stepped up into the position.

I have yet to catch one, however. They're quick little critters.

Bad Day in Arizona

Today was a ruff day. First, Mom had to call poison control after she found her tub of sunscreen in the doubt, I had gotten it off of the counter and decided to taste it. (FYI-if your sunscreen contains Zinc Oxide, keep it away from your pets!) Poison control said no food or water for 6 THAT'S some bad news.

Later, Mom dicovered this boil like bump on my front paw. Considering the size and how I couldn't leave it alone, she took me to the vet. They opened up the bump, drained it and wrapped it up. As much as I tried, I couldn't leave the bandage they fitted me for a cone! This is almost as bad as no food for 6 hours! They also gave me antibiotics. I can't start taking the pills until tomorrow, according to the vet at the animal poison control.

The local vet wasn't sure if the infection came from a cactus or something called "Valley Fever." I have to go back in 10 days for a follow-up!

I don't know about living in Arizona...
