Arrival Story:
Rummel was rescued from a cold kennel in the Harrisburg Humane Society in December 2002, when he was about 7 months old. The sign on the front said that he was given up because he was "too much to handle". I couldn't resist the pleading face.

Bio:
Shortly after getting Rummel home from the shelter we came to realize that someone had mistreated him. The unorganized Humane Society hadn't mentioned this, if they even knew. He was extremely hand-shy, and didn't want to be touched at all. He would urinate out of fear when approached, even by my husband and me. Also, he was NOT housebroken, like we were told. Honestly, for as bad as he must have been treated as a puppy, he came out of it with the sweetest personality I've ever seen. After showering him with love and attention (and spoiling him rotten!) he came around to be the puppy he should be. He's still nervous, especially around strangers, but he's a big snuggler with everyone now. Rummel was lucky he found such big suckers to put up with his adjustment period. He's adorable and I love him, but he has his moments where I consider strangulation. ^_~
