Arrival Story: I have always wanted a puppy, but never in my wildest dreams did I think of getting a poodle. My father could not stand "girly dogs". Well this is the story of how I ended up with my beloved Ginger. My Grandmother and I went to a pet store one day, when I see an adorable puppy. We end up bringing him home. When my dad found out he freaked. So that puppy (who we called Benji) went back to the store. Then my dad felt really bad so he bought me a beautiful American Staffordshire terrier. We called him Shadow b/c he was black & white. He grew too big to keep in our small house. So we gave him away too. I was companionless. Then I heard about Ginger. My family was down there (at the breeders house) so fast it wasn't funny. When we saw Ginger we adored her. And that’s how I ended up with my "Baby".

Bio: Ginger is a Purebreed Miniature poodle. Ginger was born on July 13 2003. She is Redgestered in AKC. Her middle name is Snap. Ginger LOVES to pose for pictures.

Well... Let me see... where to begin? Well, let me start here: When I was about three years old my parents asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. My answer was an animal doctor. Ever since then my dream in life is to become a veterinarian (which I am now working towards). I went through many tough times and apparently many dogs as well. All my life I had a huge love for dogs. My mother never understood it because she simply didn’t like dogs at all. But after all my crying and whining she got me my first dog when I was about one or two years old. His name was Curby. I was too young to really remember him but my mother says I adored him. It was only a few months later that we found out we were moving to New York. So my mother gave Curby away. In New York we lived in a small apartment that did not allow dogs. It was another TEN long years before I got another dog. That would be the story of Benji, which is: My Grandmother and I went to a pet store one day, when I see an adorable puppy (Benji). We end up bringing him home. When my dad found out he freaked. So poor Benji went back to the store. Then after that my father felt really bad about taking something I loved so much away from me so he bought me Shadow. But this time it was my mother who wasn’t fond of the dog. She said he was big and smelly so we gave him away too. We gave him to my aunt and they called him Bullseye. Then she had to give him away too. I was devastated. To have something I love so much be taken away from me three times is not a very easy task. My dad saw how upset I was and felt really badly. He ended up buying a dog the whole family loved except for him. He is not very fond of Ginger only because she likes to get into everything and BARK! But besides that I think he likes her even though he won’t admit it. Well the point of this whole thing is to basically say… Ginger has been more than a pet to me in the past years. She’s been also a friend and an inspiration to myself to continue to work hard and fulfill my dream of becoming a veterinarian. I love ginger so much. She has always been there for me when I needed her and I pray she always will. This is a special Tail of Devotion

Well Yesturday was my third birthday. Yup! I'm three! My mommy bought me a can of dog food (which she hardly ever gives me. She usually just gives me dry food) and mixed it in with my food so that I knew today was a special day. Like I didn't know it already!
