Arrival Story:
We found Buddy online at petfinder.com, he was with a local rescue group and in a foster home until he was adopted out. the week that we found him online, we found out that the rescue group was having an adoption fair at a local park...we went as soon as we found out. Buddy was in a cage, curled up in his blanket...the lady we that was his foster mama, spoke to us and said that he had growled at everyone that even had looked at him that day. when he saw us, he stood up and wagged his tail, we took him out on a leash and fell in love with him & im pretty sure the feeling was mutal. he was supposed to had been $120 to adopt but since the lady just had the feeling that he would be well taken care of, she let us adopt him for $75. before we left with him, the lady gave us his blanket, she said that was the only thing that he was territorial about, and then told us that the lady that originally had him brought him in with fur missing off his nose/mouth area, and something sticky. come to find out the lady's husband duck taped Buddy's mouth shut, claiming that he barked too much. he has been with us since April 2005, and adjusted extremely well, considering the kind of treatment he had gone through.

Bio:
Buddy is a Red (maybe a Red Dapple) Short Haired, Standard Dachshund. He loves to sleep in the bed under the covers & very much a cover hog...he loves to chase birds-flies-bees...loves riding in the car...and likes to be rubbed with feet on his neck, if you moved your foot away, he'd go where you moved it and put his head on top your foot...he is also very protective of his sisters, home and us.
