Bio:
Kiche had a long life filled with adventure. She had several cross country trips and was a frequent flyer in her early years. She was a roamer when she was young and frequently ran off on me on the trail but in her later years, she was a staple with me on the trail sticking with me and keeping the pack together. She loved hiking and bossing around her pack mates in the household. She went roller blading, cross country skiing, hiking, loved the beach (especially Nantucket!) and has been to several National Parks – Yosemite, Yellowstone, and much of Utah for lots of hiking. She was an accomplished AKC obedience dog (CD), Agility dog (NA, JWW), Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and for 5 years she visited cancer patients and children at Cedars Sinai as part of their therapy dog program. She was gentle, tolerant and sweet with children. She will be desperately missed by me and her pack mates who will now have to figure out who is in charge….. Kiche has been called an ambassador to her breed inspiring many of my friends to adopt Siberian Huskies – either as puppies or as rescues. A poem in memory of Kiche– She’s just my dog She is my other eyes that can see above the clouds My other ears that hear above the winds She is the part of me that can reach out into the seas. She has told me a thousand times over that I am the reason for being By the way she rests her head against my leg By the way she thumps her tail at my smallest smile By the way she shows her hurt when I leave without taking her When I am wrong, she is delighted to forgive When I am angry, she clowns to make me smile When I am happy, she is joy abound When I am fool, she ignores it When I succeed she brags Without her, I am only another person With her, I am all powerful She has promised to wait for me….whenever….. In case I need her And I expect I will…as I always have She is my dog.
