Arrival Story:
I went to the shelter to adopt a puppy, and Petie was just the cutest little brindle boy with a short, soft coat and fuzzy ears. He came over and untied by shoe while I was looking at another pup. How could I not take him home?

Bio:
Petie started out with a short coat...and then he grew into something resembling a walking carpet. His coat is a lot like an Afghan's coat and he has a long Afghan face, but he looks like a Setter. A really hairy Setter. His feet are exceptionally hairy, and he also has some wispy hair on top of his head that likes to stand straight up. It can be twisted up into horns to reveal his true nature. He absolutely hates being groomed. Two years ago a Pit Bull mix named Forrest was added to the family. He and Petie have a love-hate relationship: Forrest loves Petie and Petie barely tolerates Forrest. But they get along as long as equal attention is given to both! Petie's been my boy for eleven years. He's starting to show signs of aging, but he enriches my life just as much now as he did when he was an energetic, short-haired pup.
