Arrival Story:
I adopted her about 10 years ago from a small rescue organization in Florida. We had decided that we wanted a small fluffy dog. Ivy was the last of the dog and pony show. She sat down in between us on the front lawn and promptly told her foster mom that she had found the people she was looking for. I never had a chance. And its been true love ever since.

On April 10, 2006 Ivy passed away. She had been deteriorating for quite some time, and recently had stopped eating. We took her to Animal Kind in Brooklyn when it was time. Up until that day she had not been in pain, but she started crying as if to tell us it was time. She was a good, good girl. My sweet little girlie. I hope she knows how much she was loved, and how many people she touched. I asked her father what dogs do in heaven without their people. "They wait," he said. "I told her she's the first person I'll look for when I get there." And tears rolled down his face.
