Arrival Story:
Mom came and got me from the animal shelter. I was really worried for a while because I met her once and then she didn't come back for 2 weeks. Then she came with some other really nice male human and then she picked me up. And her house is where I used to run around before I got taken to the pound! So all of the neighbors come to see me and I have two kids I get to play with sometimes.

Bio:
(mom speaking) I had been wanting a dog FOREVER as I deeply mourned having to leave Chugach when I left my ex boyfriend. I wanted another husky, despite their quirks, and I really disliked herding breeds as I've met many with issues. However, I walked into the human society and there was Rubi, 3 months old, fuzzy and cute, and well we got stuck on each other. She's my first puppy though I've had dogs in my family before so she's been a learning experience from day one--but I couldn't live without her now! She's so much a part of my life I hate leaving her even to go to work.

mom put all her stuff AND my stuff in boxes and took it away! then she and i drove for like ever!

Now, the house is different! The yard is different! the weeds are different! the dirt is different! the fence is different! the carpet is different! the door is different!

and ... there are these bushy-tailed things that chatter and run up and down the trees. I WANT THEM.

Dearest Rubi,
You have brought to my life a depth I never thought I'd find. Even my love for family and friends is of a different order. You make me feel loved when I am depressed; you make every outing to the park, hiking or camping thousands of times more enjoyable. Your smile and doggie kisses make me forget the puppy puddles, the chewed objects and the sleepless nights when you first joined me. I imagine other people feel about their children what I feel about you. You are my perfect companion. I hope I can live up to your love.

i'm sitting here on the floor in mom's computer room dictating to her what to type while I stretch out by her feet, close enough to give the occasional nose kiss or lick to her toes. I'm reveling in the feel of dirt worked into my fur and the pleasant exhaustion of 2 days of chasing Merlin, my doggy friend.

I soooooooo love camping.

No leash, sometimes; lots of humans who pet me and love me; better food than at home (why won't mom give me more table scraps at home????); sleeping in the cloth house with mom on the bouncy bed; fresh creek water to drink; allllll kinds of new smells and things to lick and chase; and getting to run around with my friend! Why can't we just live here in the woods all the time? I don't want to come home. I want to go back.
