Arrival Story:
My fiancee and I worked at a local veterinary hospital and were thinking about getting a Mini Bullie because they aren't a very common breed- and thay are soooooo very cute. We wanted a white female with a patch over the eye. When we looked for one there weren't any litters at the time, so we decided to just be patient and wait until the right time. One day, the local shelter brought in a bunch of dogs for their rabies vaccine and one dog with a severe skin issue. A female white miniature bull terrier with a patch over the eye! It was definately love at first sight and she ran right up to me wagging her tail!!! The shelter worker told us that she was found as a stray and that she was very scared and timid. It took them a few days to catch her and they had to use a "Have a Heart" trap to capture her. While at the shelter she was extremely scared and unsure what was going on. We were suprised that she has never been scared with us, that's why we say SHE chose US. To this day she is very shy, at first, with new people. When I told my fiancee over the phone that I got something to bring home, she didn't believe me until she got there. When she got there to see "Pixie", who we renamed "Lucy", she was soooo happy! Lucy seemed to choose us and we were glad. She was in good health when we got her- except for her skin and a few fleas. Her skin was very dirty and patchy. She had some raw & bald spots and was very itchy. She was slightly underweight but ate well. We had to have the Dr. rule out what her skin problem could be. We gave her medicated baths and fed her an hypoallergenic diet for possible food allergies and she has to stay on continuous flea preventative just in case it is a flea allergy. Now her white fur has grown back and is very shiny!!!! She is not itchy anymore, but sometimes has a small breakout. She's our little allergy dog but she loves us and we love her dearly. We always wonder what happened to her, because it's not everyday you find one of these dogs running around. They are very expensive and whoever had her has never looked, so she is ours now and she loves us. We had her spayed and her teeth cleaned when we got her so she has a very good life and she is pampered to the fullest!

Today was the day for my bath. Daddy and Mommy said it was time because I got all muddy on vacation in New Jersey! They said if I want to sleep in their bed I have to be cleaned up. I don't like my baths that much, but I like to sleep with mommy and daddy, so I stood very still while mommy gave me a bath. Afterwards I shook all the water out and I felt soooo cleann!!!! I always know also that I will get a greenie treat after a bath so I was very happy after my bath!

My Leg is Fixed!

Well, i had my surgery and it went great! Everything went as planned, and my recovery has been smooth so far. My leg feels back to normal, but my parents still won't let me jump up on anything, or run around like my usual crazy self. I guess it's for my own good, but it still sucks! It's amazing how Dr. Lampman fixed it. He put a metal plate on my bone, and screwed it in with 10 screws! My parents helped him with the surgery and took lots of pictures. Anyways, throw me a bone and wish me a good recovery!
