My birthday

Thanks to all my puggy friends who have given me prezzies today. Gosh I would have been 14. It is so different at our house with no "lapdog". The goldens try, they hang out by moms feet but no snorting and warm puggy kisses, well you pug owners know about that.
Just want you all to know the mom appreciates you ALL thinking of me.
Love and kisses your way

Sushi and me

I really wasn't much of a outdoor girl, most of the time it was too hot, I didn't care to get my feet wet. I did like to stalk the tomatoes in the garden....yummo.

Today mom and dad placed me in the garden with my BFF Sushi. Together we can watch over our family and enjoy the sounds of the birds in the trees and the gentle breezes. Maybe I can get a scent of a tomato plant or two from the veggie garden next door.

We are thinking of our girl!

Keepsake
We thought of you with love today
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday
And days before that too.
We think of you in silence.
We often speak your name.
Now all we have are memories
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake,
With which we never part.
God has you in his keeping
We have you in our heart.

My first Christmas at the bridge

I know they are going to have a hard time with Christmas this year. I always was so entertaining trying to get in the packages and chew up the paper. Did I mention I love to eat paper?
I always got to snuggle on the couch with mom while grandkids opened their prezzies. I got prezzies too, but mom was such a big kid and would let me open them on Christmas eve when they got back from church.
One thing I didn't like was cold weather and wet feet.
Got to go snuggle with my sis Sushi and my friends Jayke the Golden and President Irving the pug have joined us.
Just remember we have not gone, but gone ahead.

Merry Christmas to all my friends....Dozer..love you!

Though I have gone ahead and mom and dad are feeling sad, they have some really good pals on dogster who miss me, too.

One pal Dozer, the handsomest Corgi in the world's mom made us a Shutterfly book with all my pics. We are amazed that someone we have never met face to face would do something so creative and caring for us. It makes us cry, but it also makes us laugh. She made such a wonderful book of memories that we will cherish the rest of our lives. You can see his smiling face at http://www.dogster.com/dogs/293408

Another pal Mackie the Brussels Griffon from California's mom has also written us and made us feel better. Lots of my friends felt like they really knew me, that is what is so wonderful about Dogster....the caring and sharing in the love we have for our best friends. Though we are miles apart in body we are so close in spirit.

Thanks Dogster friends for helping us through this difficult time.

One week and it doesn't get easier

I have been gone one week today. Mom says it is not any easier. She misses my snores, can you believe that?
I saw Trooper finally lying on my bed again. I miss the big bruiser. I miss sweet Holly and Wendy who were so nice to me.
Mom says"Ms Personality" is gone. I can tell they are still sad.

The Last Battle
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close -- we two -- these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

Cause you were something to remember
Warm and lovely like the sun
Every morning still reminds me
Brings a tear that nearly blinds me
One more day to live through
One more day of living without you

A Letter From Your Pet In Heaven

To my dearest family,
some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know,
that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from the Bridge.
Here I dwell with God above.
Here there's no more tears of sadness.
Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy
just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you
every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you
when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me
and He said, "I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again,
you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family,
They'll be here later on."
God gave me a list of things,
that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list,
was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night
the day's chores put to flight,
God and I are closest to you...
in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth,
and all those loving years,
because you are only human,
they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry:
it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers,
unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you
all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you,
you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain,
though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now,
than I ever was before.
There are rocky roads ahead of you
and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it
by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy
and I'd like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world,
the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody
who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...
"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented...
that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along
I made somebody smile.
God says: "If you meet somebody
who is sad and feeling low;
Just lend a hand to pick him up,
as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street
with me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps
only half a step behind."
"And when it's time for you to go...
from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going...
you're coming here to me."
