Arrival Story:
We went to Animal Control to rescue a male beagle, but Marleigh's time was almost up and she was the sweetest girl we had ever seen. The test was to make sure she could be a good sister to Eli, our Canaan Dog, who was going blind from juvenile cataracts. Sure enough, she looks after him, gets him to play with her and keeps tabs on him at the dog park. She will run and play with the other dogs and then stop to go check on him every 3-4 minutes. She's a darling, sweet girl!

Bio:
The Texas Blue Lacy breed nearly disappeared due to shrinking family ranches, but they have been making a comeback with hunters and trappers for their fearless nature. It is said the Texas Blue Lacy can do the work of FIVE cowboys! They have been celebrated as the state dog of Texas. All Blue Lacys have the same eyes and a white blaze on their brisket. They originated in the Texas hill country when the Lacy Brothers cross-bred a grey hound with a scent hound, and supposedly they threw in some coyote too. They are great dogs, but if you shout at them, you can ruin them. Our Marleigh was probably abused at her previous home because she suffered from submissive urination and was frightened of everything. She is 100% cured of that now and eager to please and friendly! What a great dog!!
