Likes:
Her FAVORITE thing is having her belly scratched and being hugged. She also loves pushing Josie & Daisy out of the way so she gets ALL of the attention!! She likes being the "door greeter" when people come over, she jumps up onthe fence to say HI!

Pet-Peeves:
does not like loud noises, being on a leash

Favorite Toy:
She doesn't really play much. She just likes to be loved on.

Favorite Food:
people food!

Favorite Walk:
she doesn't really like to go for walks. She kind of just likes to stay home.

Arrival Story:
Dakota appeared in our yard one day and the kids started playing with her. We heard from neighbors that she had been bedding down in their flower beds. AFter playing with our kids, she decided she liked us and curled up next to my camaro. We were afraid she'd get hit in the middle of the night or the next morning, so we let her go in the back yard with Josie and Daisy, and she's been with us ever since. She is the most beautiful dog....her fur color is gorgeous and she has one blue eye and one brown eye. She LOVES to be hugged (she just melts in your arms when you hug on her and pet her.) However, we don't have enough room for 3 dogs in our backyard, and I believe that Dakota would prefer to be an "only dog"...so if you have the love in your heart that Dakota needs, please adopt her!!

Bio:
Dakota and Daisy didn't really get along. They are both very sweet dogs, but they just "butted heads". So, since Daisy was there first, the thing to do was find a new home for Dakota. With the help of Husky Rescue-Southern Indiana Save A Pet www.sisaveapet.com , we found Dakota a new home in which she is completely happy! I get updates on her every so often and pictures. There is a newly attached pic on her page with her new family member Balto. I am so happy that Dakota found a new home....AND IS HAPPY!

Dakota finally found a new home. Southern Indiana Save A Pet helped us find Dakota a home through the Huskie rescue. She now has a WONDERFUL home with a man and his son, and Dakota is allowed to live in the house. They have changed her name to Chance and she is VERY happy!! I am SO glad! Whoever dumped Dakota off at our house did her a huge favor because we didn't let her get hit by a car, we fed her and kept her healthy and safe until she could find a true home. I am so happy for Dakota aka Chance and will always have her in our memories and hearts.

Dakota finally found a home...

Well...Dakota came to us, a beautiful husky/mix that was dumped by our house on our country road. She was fun and gorgeous, very friendly, fun-loving and just soaked up the love (she LOVED hugs). Well...she did not get along with our little Daisy. We needed to find a good home for Dakota, and the pound was not the answer. So...we called Southern Indiana Save-a-pet and Husky Rescue. Together, they found an EXCELLENT home for Dakota (whose name is now Chance). Dakota is an "only dog" and gets to live in the house. I'm sure Dakota is very happy now. We have WONDERFUL memories of her and feel blessed that she touched our lives, but we are so grateful that she has a home where she can get all of the love she wants and needs.
