FYI on TY.....and help needed

We are not just getting rid of Ty because we can't teach our Grandson not to kiss his face or sit on his back as our 1 1/2 year old baby tries to do. Ty is given his space and left alone when he expresses it to us. Our dogs are part of the family and never miss treated. All children are taught not to miss treat them. And when is giving kisses and getting licks in return misstreating a dog?

Ty is gettting older and doing things that he has never done before. Snatching food from adults as well as children. Growling at anyone who he doesn't want petting him...myself included! He is charging at the fence when people walk by or come to our front door. He almost broke through our patio door trying to get at our "bug guy" who we have had for 4 years. We can tell the difference between normal dog behaviour and ones when the dog is getting too agressive.

We had a behaviourist look at Ty 2 years ago and tried to work with him after she told us that he might get this way. We gave it a 2 year try. We don't want to wait till he bites someone!
Our optoins are to either get him into another home without young children or to but him to sleep. That is our very last resort because he is too good of a dog to have that done to him.

Please if anyone has any ideas don't leave an Anonymous
Rosette, say it to my face as an adult. I am open to all suggustions.

Are we taking the easy way out? YES!! I have ostiathritis in both knees and deal with pain everyday and short on tolerance. I don't want to take my pain anger out on my dog. My dogs can tell when I am having a bad day. Maybe that is how Ty feels? He is getting older and needs to be taken out of the places that make it worse. I can do that for myself but he can't. We have to put him in his crate or kennel out side to keeep the baby away from him. We have gates all over our home to keep them a part. Is that a loving family dog?
He has been snapping at everyone. Adults as well as children.

Does he need to be put to sleep? Is he too aggressive?

I'm upset....

my Mom & Dad are upset at me...I'm not sure but I think it's because I don't like the lttle boys any more. I like the big ones because they don't want to sit on me.
They really got mad at me when I tried to snatch the food from my(adult) skin sissy! But it smelt soooo goood!!!
I didn't mean to growl at the littlest boy but he was trying to kiss my face...yuck!
I try to be good but I'm getting older and don't want to be bothered any more. Just let me sleep at your feet and swim in the pool when I get hot. I love them still, just don't want to be bothered.
As for little Winston......he has always gotten on my nerves!!!! Dogs aren't supposed to be that short are they?

Update on my days...

It's been a month since my Roscoe left our house...man I sure do miss my brother!! I still smell him every where I go, my humans car , my skin sisters little car. But that's ok 'cause I know he feels better where he is now. He was an old boy too, just like me. But he had a hard time moving...poor boy!
I feel like eating my food now and I like to talk to my humans. They laugh and hug me when I do it so I like to make them happy, so I do it more every day. They buy me lots of treats now too. Maybe because Roscoe had a hard time eating them so we never got too many!!
I am happy to just sit by my humans and keep their feet warm and feel the love from the hugs. Each day gets better and better....
