Arrival Story:
I was at a rural yard sale, and saw this most-adorable-ever puppy sitting chained up to the porch, with a "free" sign around his neck. He was about 3 1/2 months old, and his girl had gone away to college. Her parents said if they couldn't find a home for him soon, they were going to shoot him! I couldn't have that, so I took him home.

Bio:
Teddy was the light and love of my life for one blessed year. He was the sweetest, gentlest, dog you could ask for. I loved him more than I thought possible to love anything. He loved everyone, especially children, and they loved him. On December 21, 1996, as I walked in the front door after work to start Christmas vacation (I was a SpEd teacher), Teddy darted out of it--right in front of a school bus, before my eyes, and despite my calling desperately to him. The road was 2 inches thick with ice, and the bus couldn't stop. Teddy died as I rushed him to the vet. My baby was just 14 months old. My heart broke that day, and it never really healed....

Forums Motto:
Mom's gentle angel, waiting.
