Arrival Story:
My husband surprised me with Tess in 2002 because our oldest dog (a beautiful blk/wht springer boy) was 14. He thought it would make it easier for me if we had another springer at the time that Bo would have to cross over to the bridge. So he brought home Tess, this little 6-week old ball of fur, and I didn't want her! I thought she would take up too much of my time and I thought Bo deserved all of me for the last months of his life. But of course Tess wiggled her way into my heart instantly and she is the love of my life. And Bo stuck around for 2 more years, and was an awesome big brother!

Tess is not afraid of much, except for anybody messing with her ears or any sort of grooming. Where most dogs are afraid of a vacuum cleaner -- she likes to play with it! She'll bark at it and of course I have to push it at her like it's gonna "get" her! Sometimes She likes to chase the little lizards that climb our fence - they are always faster than her! She plays hard, and sleeps little. Up every day at 5:00am, ready to go in the backyard and sniff everywhere the birds have been. We have 2 metal water buckets on the patio -- evidently the birds must drink from there, because she sniffs in a circle around the top of the bucket, and then paws at the water until she's soaking wet -- then lays in between the buckets, waiting for more birds to come get a drink! Her favorite time of year are the 2 weeks in July when we drive to Oregon from Arizona and spend 14 glorious days at the lake -- she is free to roam and to chase birds and smell smells and swims in the lake! By the time 6:00pm rolls around, she cannot keep her eyes open.

Chillin' in Chandler

So life is still awesome here in Chandler, me and my big brother Hunter have had this huge backyard for a year now, my Mom takes us walking every day and then we get to play frisbee at the house too! There's this one thing though - between Hunter and I, we have 4 beds and plus we get to sleep with our people - but I like to lay on the recliner too, so one day I was busted, my Mom came in the house and the recliner was rocking, so she put 2 and 2 together.... yep, me! I was on the recliner! I never get yelled at, so instead she put a sheet on the recliner so I guess that means it's OK for me to lay on it. Probably because I'm soooo cute I can get away with a lot of stuff!

My New House!

So we're back in Arizona now, where I was born, and my people moved us into a new house with a huge yard! There's lots of trees and bushes and you know what that means my friend - LOTS OF BIRDS! I love me some birds, I chase them but they're always too fast, but I love sniffing the places they've been. We have a pool now, and I don't like to swim, but when I get hot from running around I like to lay on the first step and cool off for a while. I'm telling ya, I've got the life! Today is my birthday, I think my Mom's going to give me a raw beef rib bone, drool drool!

Running Free in Corvallis

Hi! I've been spending the weekends in Corvallis, OR at our friend's house. My mom gets real bored and cranky when she has to spend too much time at the lake house, there's no shopping, whatever that is, so we come to the city and it's cool because there's this huge off-leash park that Mom takes me to, there's lots of trees and bushes and I can run free and smell lots of rad stuff! I meet lots of other nice doggies, the worst part is when it rains, but it doesn't bother me as much as my Mom. The other thing that bothers me sometimes is Butkus -- he lives at the house that we visit, he's a young dude, a white lab, and he thinks he's all that and is always trying to get too familiar with me so I have to put him in his place a lot. He doesn't mess with my big bro Hunter though, they have an understanding! Must be a guy thing...
