Morning Walk

It is another beautiful fall day here in Nova Scotia. Mom skipped her aquaaerobics class this morning and took us for an early morning walk at the beach. We met some of our doggie friends, Abby, Jessie, Digby, and a new little King Charles Cavalier spaniel puppy. When my mom saw the spaniel she went stupid. She tied me to a pole but not Mr. Perfect Bailey and then oohed and aahed over the little rat. I must admit she was pretty cute and I probably would have scared her but that's what I do, right. Bailey got to sniff her and run around with her while I made a fuss and my mom ignored me. Bailey got in trouble later though. He tried to roll on a dead seagull and got all sorts of junk on his cone. My mom was not impressed. One of the men I bark at was excited to see me this morning. He is back from Newfoundland for the winter and apparently yesterday was telling his daughter about me barking at him every morning for years and then there I was. I think they were both happy to see me although my mom says she doesn't know why. I wonder when the other man I bark at will return. He is a jogger and I think he enjoys seeing me every morning too.

Another vet visit

We went to the vet today to recheck my teeth and to get the vet to look at a lump at the top of my hind leg. The lump was an abscess and the vet said there was a small puncture there. He drained it and I'm on antibiotics for the next two weeks. While we were in the waiting room my mom felt a lump on my head and when she looked it was a tick. Yuck. Now my mom feels guilty for missing a wound and a tick. All these vet visits are making me wonder if I'm getting old and my body is starting to fall apart. Either that or my mom is getting old and needs to step it up a bit. Either way hopefully I can get a lot of guilt treats for this. Bol.

After the Vet

Well I got my teeth cleaned yesterday and thet are all nicy and shiny white now. The vet said there were no problems so I didn't lose any. Whew, that's good. I had my front legs x-rayed and I have some arthritis in them which probably caused my limping last week. I am not limping any more so I guess the Metacam worked. The vet thinks I probably did something to my legs when I was a pup but my mom wouldn't know about that. So the news wasn't too bad but that didn't let my mom off the hook. I gave her the cold shoulder, actually I turned my bum to her all last night and gave her the best glare I could manage every time she came near me. I cuddled up to my dad though. That will teach her to take me to the vet and leave me there. I had to be nice this morning though because I wanted a treat and a walk. Besides being mad is hard work.
