Arrival Story:
We had to give up a wonderful big dog that we had because he bit a neighbor kid (who propbably deserved it... but, it was going to be a problem to keep him)... we were all very, very sad and we decided that a Westie would be a good sort of dog for our family and had a friend who recommended a breeder... we went to visit and found this rediculously tiny (he was the runt) little white fluffy dog who immediately became known as "Buster" because of his big personality... he came home with us that very day! Our first stop was the pet store to buy small-sized supplies, for our small-sized doggie... he's been in our home and in our hearts ever since!

Bio:
-We almost lost Buster this past February to the disease commonly known as White Shaker Dog Syndrome... it occurs primarily in white pure-breds, such as Westies and Bichons, but is still a rather rare disease. We had a terrifying weekend where he was in the doggie hospital and we didn't know if he would come back to us... he had a very severe, sudden-onset case. Poor boy couldn't wak or jump for a quite a while afterward, and it was months before he was back to his perky self... although he is still not quite as active as he was prior to his illness... to this day he has to take a small dose of Prednizone (a steroid) daily to keep the "shakes" away. -Buster has a BIG bark and acts like he's a tough guy... however, his actual protection skills were brought to light a few days ago when our doors were open and a huge dog just ambled through our house and Buster ran and hid behind my legs! :o)
