Arrival Story:
We found Ringo in the dog pound in San Francisco. He kept jumping up on all fours behind the bars of his jail cell, leaping up and down as if to say, "Hey, please, get me OUT OF HERE." We sensed a certain intelligence and sensitivity in him, despite his frantic jumping and the crazed look in his eye. We took him home and it's been an adventure ever since.

Bio:
Ringo's previous owners took him to the pound because he was too much trouble. So he came with a rap sheet: not potty trained, barker, bad with children, pulls on leash. According to a pound employee who was there when Ringo was locked up, the owners had bought him from a puppy store as a purebred Rat Terrier. They were expecting a teeny tiny dog, but Ringo just kept growing, and growing, and they couldn't deal with him. Lucky for us, most of the bad stuff turned out not to be true. He's actually a joyful dog, perfectly potty trained, and sweet as can be. He is afraid of things: running kids, tall men with booming voices, beards and baseball caps, very loud noises. He'll get into the trash at any opportunity, and can escape out of confined spaces, having busted out of numerous screen windows and a securely locked doggie crate. He's a little Houdini, and very high maintenance, but we love him anyway.
