....we'd have no luck at all!
Mom took little Jefferson (my Doberman puppy brother) to the vet for shots the other day. She mentioned to the doctor that she has noticed his little heart beats very, very fast all the time--even while he is sleeping!
The vet is concerned, and poor little Jeff has to have some tests done tomorrow.
I hope and pray he is ok, because even though he is a big pain in the patooty, he is a cutie and we all love him so much. I'll write more when we know what's wrong.

Sorry I haven't written in a while. Our Grammy was very, very sick and went to heaven to take care of George this last Monday. Grandpa is confused and of course, very upset.
Mom has been having to go there almost every weekend to help our Aunt Anne take care of Grandpa--it is very sad. This past weekend they found him a wonderful place where they can (hopefully) take care of him.
So we have had some dark days and confusing arrangements for our care...I think things are getting better now. I just want to know where we are going to be from day to day, that's all.
Maybe today we can get back to being dogs!

That puppy is trouble. He is very cute, but Mom is having very dark thoughts about him, I just know it.
I am trying my best to keep him out of her hair, but I can't do laundry yet, and he has been peeing on the bed.
Oh well--I'll just try harder. He IS awfully cute, and we all (even Mom) knows the puppy stage will end someday.

Sorry it's been so long since I have written. If only you all knew what I've been up to!
I'm now official foster dad to Jefferson the Doberman puppy. He is now 8 weeks old and growing like a weed. Jake was supposed to be the one looking after him (because Jake is a Doberman, too) but Jake despises the boy and has left him to me to raise.
So my paws have been full and I've been unable to stop chasing after my boy long enough to make an entry. Right now he is sleeping on Mom's lap, so I can steal a few minutes away for the computer. However, I'm so tired I can't see straight from my napless days. That puppy loves to jump on me while I am resting--scares me silly! He also likes to grab onto my jowls and hang there while I walk around the living room. I'm trying to get Mom to get a picture of that for you.
Oops! Jeff has to go tinkle--catch you later!

Oh goodness gracious--Mom has gone off the deep end.
After narrowly avoiding adding a new sister last week--Mom went and fell for a Doberman baby today! Jefferson is his name, and I am very upset about this.
He is so tiny--6 pounds--as helpless as a kitten (and just about as much fun). My nose is quite out of joint at no longer being the baby of the family. WHAT IS SHE THINKING??? I have retired to the bedroom from now on, and will have nothing more to do with her or the family. Jake is with me on this.
A baby Dobe. Jeez, Mom! Learn where babies come from, why don't you, so we can avoid these problems from now on!!!

Overheard that Mom is planning on leaving us out in the new big run tonight and tomorrow night, while she is at work! Oh, NO! This is worse that being left in the kennel!!!!! Outside, in the cold with only a big doghouse filled with cedar shavings to sleep in??? FOR A WHOLE NIGHT?? It's supposed to get down to 50!!!! What is she thinking???
I guess it might be better than being stuck in a crate for 14 hours straight, but still---I don't like this one bit. I wish we could be given the run of the house while she is gone, but after the incident the other day where I ate all the toilet paper off the rolls and then ate part of the recliner, she just won't give me another chance! No fair!
At least Jake has to stay outside with me too, due to the return of his peeing problems. Wish Jesse was here to open the gate for us!

I have high hopes for this glorius day!
It is sunny and should get to 65 degrees today....great weather for North Carolina! It might not last beyond today, so I am determined to make the best of it.
Mom has some errands to run, and then we are going OUT! Hopefully we will go hiking in the woods, but I have to be on a leash after the other day. A dog appeared out of nowhere, and I took off after him at light speed. Mom couldn't stop me---NOTHING can when I get like that!
She finally found me right back at home when she got done combing the countryside. I was very sorry, but she scolded me and now I have to be leashed when out.
We might bake dog cookies or people cookies too--either way is fine by me! I can sneak a bite when she's not looking.
Hope everyone has such a good day!

Lots and lots of good smells coming from the kitchen! I am permanently banished after resting my head on the counter to "watch" Mom cook, and then helping myself to the pie filling when her back was turned...I can't help it! My head being at perfect counter level and all....
We are going to hike in the woods today, can't wait! Catch ya'll later!

I've had enough of Mom working all day. Next week she goes back to night shift and we don't have to be left in crates like DOGS all day! She thinks its too cold to leave us out in the kennel, so at least that's a plus. I poop in the crate every day, just to leave her a tangible reminder of my discontent!
Life is quiet and dull since George went to heaven. There is some talk of adding a new set of paws to the family, but I hope NOT. I've never been the second oldest dog before, and I'm still enjoying the prestige and rewards that come with the position.
I do miss George, but he returns from time to time to tell us what he is up to. He has a new friend Pasha, who went to heaven last year and who is my brother Jesse's (who now lives in Wisconsin) guardian angel dog. I know--confusing! You'll just have to take my word for it, George is doing ok, I think.
Well, have to run. I'm busy watching for snow! Since I grew up in Michigan, I LOVE the snow. Everyone else hates it.

My brother George became very sick yesterday. Mom took him to the animal emergency vet last night, expecting to be told he had just eaten something weird like I did last week.
They didn't find anything too wrong, and George and Mom came home around midnight.
George got very sick, though, and by the time the vet opened in the morning it was too late to do anything but help ease him out of this world and into his next adventure.
I miss my brother. Jake misses him too. But Mom misses him so much it's going to take lots and lots and lots of extra kisses from us to make her stop crying....
Be good, George. We'll all see you someday.
