Likes:
Sleeping on the couch! Or hiking in the woods! Or running with the scooter!

Pet-Peeves:
Don't make me move!!! Don't let Max take my treats!

Favorite Toy:
I really, really like to chase that little red laser pointer dot. After it disappears, I'll look for it under the sofa to see if it's hiding.

Favorite Food:
I have a sweet tooth...I like fruit (bananas, apple, dried mango, dried apricots).

Favorite Walk:
I really like walking where there are interesting smells...anywhere....

Best Tricks:
I like to catch things....like young bunnies in the yard....I catch 'em...then let them go...then catch 'em again!

Arrival Story:
We searched high and low for a good companion dog that would get along well with Katee and Max. Finally at a Humane Society foster home, we found Razzy. He was perfectly content to let Max be "The Alpha" and he's fast enough to give Katee a good chase. :)

Bio:
I know I'm half blue tick coonhound, we think I might be half Foxhound also, but sometimes I act more like I'm half couch potato! I don't like thunder storms anymore, either. I used to not mind them and the loud noise they make, but now it scares me. Mom and dad don't know why I'm scared of them now when I wasn't before. But now I try to sleep on their heads if there's a storm at night!

Forums Motto:
I'm a scooter dog now!

Favorite Activity:
Hmmm....I like to scooter with Katee and mom...and I like to go hiking, especially if we see armadillos! Oh, I just love to see armadillos!

Favorite Sleeping Place:
I'm really big on furniture...either the couch or the big chair, but when I'm really tired, I like my crate.

Neat Trick:
I can "disappear" outside in dim light. My fur matches the light/dark patterns of scattered leaves and *poof* I disappear!

Can we go again?

So we went running yesterday morning, at the Ray Roberts Greenbelt...and I wanna go again! It was a little too warm, though, almost 70*.

But we ran...and ran....and ran....well, only a little over five miles, but it was running! And there was some deer scent, but not much since this trail gets a few more people on it than the other trail. But it was great, and there was an access point for the river and Katee and I got to wade, Max got to swim, and mom and dad got muddy shoes waiting on the bank. Heheheh......

Afterwards mom and dad took us to one branch of Ray Roberts State Park and got an new state park pass, which means we're going to go camping soon! Yeah! I wanna go scent-hunting! And running! As long as they give me a good coat and blankets if it's cold out...

We camped on the way up, in Kansas. Our big crate (mom and dad call it a tent, but I know it's just a big crate that we can all fit in) was perfect, because it was really cold out the first night! I just couldn't get warm enough on my bed, so early in the middle of the night I woke dad up and got on his cot with him. Not sure how we fit, but since mom's cot was right next to us, I did't fall off the edge. At first I was still really cold, but then dad put part of his sleeping bag over me and I was toasty warm! Mom was really surprised in the morning, too, because she hadn't know I'd gotten up on dad's cot. When she looked, I was all the way under the covers and she couldn't see me at all! Heehe! We went running that morning to warm up, then back in the car for the rest of the trip up.

I was surprised to find mom's parents at a different house, an old one on a farm. But I have to say it's wonderful. There are lots of animal smells, and the road is gravel with a rails-to-trails path just up the way. We went running and I have found my calling in life. I just love running on those gravel paths (they don't hurt my feet at all!) and scenting the deer and squirrels and all. Mom discovered I can call out while running..."Arr! Arr! Arrrrrrr!!!!" "There was a deer and it was right HERE!!!" But I really impress her because I'll keep following the path we're running, even though the scent will go another way. Of course, if we're walking, I want to go right into the underbrush to follow the scent, but that's the difference between walking and running. Max doesn't get that, and he always wants to run off the trail. Silly, if he does we have to stop running! And there's always something else up the trail, if we can keep running.

We went on walks though the pastures (without the cows, though, as they'd been moved for the winter) and met a couple of other friendly dogs that came to visit with their people.

We even got to visit our Great-grand-pup-parents! They were in a different house, too, and it seemed like they were there to stay. It was good to see them again, even if we didn't get to stay there very long. I think mom and dad went back several times, though.

After a great time, we packed up again and headed back south. We stopped at a different campground on the way back, also in Kansas. It was a lot warmer, but still pretty cool for me, and this time mom and dad made sure I was warmed up by the campfire (we didn't have one on the way up, though) and warmed my blankets by the fire before they put us to bed, and I was nice and warm all night. Slept with just the tip of my nose out for most of the night, too.

And then, what a relief, we were home again. Ah....

Good to start, and good to stop

It's the very beginning of running season again, and I have to say, it's very exciting. It's still a little bit warm, and I'm a little out of shape, and my paws are a little tender, but I'm having almost as much fun running as Max is. Well, ok, I don't think anyone has as much fun running as Max does. But it is very exciting.

I'm just as happy to get back to the car as I am to leave it, though. Lots of energy to start with, but then I remember how much I like the couch....zzzzzzzzzzz.................
