Arrival Story:
I was looking at Petfinder with a friend on a slow day at work. We were looking at purebred Westies, and we found " Spike " whose photo looked like a Westie. We called the shelter and found he was available but had some issues. He was a fearbiter. He was sprung from the shelter by a friend in Cairn rescue in NYC ( he was in a Manhattan shelter ) and I picked him up in CT. He sure wasn't a purebred Westie, and he was terrified. We bonded over Krispy Kreme donuts, and the 4 hour ride back to MA. On the way, we came up with the name Broadway. He is certainly no " Spike "! His new name fit with my other dogs " B " names and paid homage to his NYC roots! It's taken a long time, and a lot of love, to help Broadway over his fear of everything ... men, other dogs, a raised voice ( even in jest ), a hand raised to pet him gently. He was obviously abused in his former home. Now he's a lover, not a fighter, loves his roommates, and loves to be loved on. He still has issues with other dogs he doesn't live with, and he doesn't get how small he really is ( thinks he's 10 feet tall and bulletproof ) but he's a very sweet little dog who's very loved!

Bio:
Sadly, Broadway left me today ( 2-7-06 ) to go the Rainbow Bridge. He will be forever in my heart. I love you, Broddy Beans.
