To run & play w/ her brothers and sister
Not being able to jump high enough to catch a bird
any type of ball; rope toys; squeakies; furries; other dogs; toes
Gizmo doesn't walk...she zooms!
She chases a toy but the whole concept of returning it is foreign to her.
Gizmo stole my heart at first sight. She had been at a rural shelter for a couple of months and no one had looked at her. I carried her around at an adoptathon and talked everyone else out of adopting her. Instead, she came home with me and the land of herding dogs. Gizmo has more energy and drive than the others combined and is usually the last one standing after playtime. And I admit that I've lacked on her obedience skills. She may sit if you have a treat and that's about it. Who needs manners? Agility would be fun and interesting with her but she's slightly afraid of the equipment. We're working on it though.
Gizmo is the ultimate escape artist and has to be watched like a hawk or tethered if outside. Gizmo also some health issues that flare up time to time. She's hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) and has to eat frequently. Her liver also has times that it does not function well either. She also has a luxating patella that does not bother or hinder her in any form or fashion. For that, she gets weekly massages and swim therapy to avoid surgery until absolutely necessary. It's a good thing she's so darn cute! ;o)
Grrrls just gotta have fun!

My mom pet sits often and I get to tag along since she says I can't be trusted to stay out of trouble. But I don't mind tagging along as there's always other dogs to play with and things to sniff.
My favorite 2nd home has 4 other doggy friends: Toby, Tucker, Henry & Taylor....They're fun to play with but my all time favorite activity at their home is "SQUIRREL HUNTIN"
There is not another time in my hectic life that I am ever still but when it's squirrel time, I'm like a statue. I run out to the yard and plop myself down and wait and watch for the squirrels to make their entrance. Sometimes I have to lay down or even roll over on my back if I have to wait long. But I never ever move from that spot.
UNTIL...those darn squirrels come down to tease me and though they probably outweigh me, I give'em heck!! and then they run back up the tree....
Exactly who's yard is it then??? uh huh! Dat's right..it's mine!

I love people..big, tall, small- it doesn't matter to me, I love'em all!
Mom's been slowly taking me different places and letting me visit and share the joy of life since she's had me.
I'm the perfect size for a lap if I can ever be really still. I even got to go to a conference for school social workers and talk about how to use pets in the classroom with special needs kids. I loved that! Everyone oohed and ahhhed over me and I was the belle of the ball! I even got to share the bed with our friend Sonja. She'd just lost her dog and I hoped to make her feel better.
This past week, Mom and I met our friends Pam & Laser and Frank & Teller at a local place with lots of kids. We visited 7 classrooms of the little tykes. I got tired after class 5 3/4 so Mom held me and gave me some treats. Little kids are lots of work and there were lots of hands touching me. As I was the little dog, lots of them wanted to pet me as they were scared of the boys, Laser & Teller.
It was a fun day and I got to then go and hang out with Mom at her office. She has my special "stay" chair there and I love to nap all day.
Grrrl power to ya!
