Arrival Story:
I've been wanting a Cardigan for quite a while and decided that the time seemed to be right so Festus came to live with us. I've known his breeders for the longest time and like their dogs and all that they do with them. Festus's been a great joy and fun to watch. He cracks me up almost on a daily basis. He's very sure about himself and has definite opinions on life.

Festus has started agility and is proving to be all heart on the agility field. He'll try anything and has a lot of confidence. He's having a lot of fun. We may not ever be the fastest but we'll have a great time. Festus also has just completed his HCT title through the AHBA. He received great remarks from the judges and we're continuing on in the herding arena. He's pretty fearless when it comes to the sheep and isn't afraid to stand up to them if needed.

April 14 & 15, I competed in my very first AKC trial. Mom was a bit nervous as the week prior she was super busy w/ work and we didn't get to practice and I've never really done straight up weaves but oh well!

Saturday, I ran Standard first and decided that I wasn't really sure about jumping or doing much of anything except smelling that yummy smelling dirt. But I did have fun! Mom wasn't entirely happy but she gets over it pretty quick.

I then ran JWW and I qualified and got first place!! I was just a few seconds over time but that was due to having to repeat the weaves and almost going around a jump.

Sunday came and again, I ran Standard first. I was soooooo excited that I wanted to take every jump and then went and saw my friend Gene, who was working as a timer. I did go back to Mom and finished the course after all my lollygagging!

Then came JWW and again, I was as speedy as my little legs could take me. I did take a few seconds to say Hi to the judge and had to be redirected slightly on the weaves but we did Qualify again and received first! Whooohooooo! So now I have 2 legs to my JWWP title. Mom says she's now looking for the next trial so I can finish my title!

What a fun weekend!! Mom and I went to my first first agility trial and it was thru the Teacup Dog Agility Association. What a fun time I had! My brother Bruce and cousin corgis Teller and Dot went w/ us and we had a blast all weekend.

I even Q'ed four out of 8 runs over the weekend. It was my agility debut and mom was very proud since we had only graduated from our level one class just last week! I got 2 Qs in Beginner Standards and 2 Qs in the games.

Mom was very happy with me and I got lots of goodies and cookies. She says we still have lots of work to do but we've gotten a good start!

I haven't been to agility class since before Christmas! With the holidays and the strange Texas weather (ICE/SNOW), class has been cancelled. I may never get to graduate from my beginner class and get to move on!

Good news is that mom entered me in my first trial the first weekend in February. It's a TeaCup trial for small dogs only. Wish us luck!
